[UPDATE 11:37 a.m. Pacific] The Operations team has hunted the gremlin down. Thanks for your patience! We’ll follow this up with an in world announcement.
*****
Some regions on the map are experiencing a slowdown or total disruption of essential in world services, including L$ transfers, mapping, and land transfers. We’re still diagnosing. We’ll follow this up with a worldwide shout: Please don’t attempt L$ or land transactions or transfer of valuable assets until we give an all-clear.
[10:15 a.m. PST --teeple]
Reporting is back in synch with in world transactions now. Thanks for your patience!
[9:54 a.m. PST --teeple]
The databases have almost finished resynchronizing. Reporting lag is down to about 15 minutes and closing…
*****
[8:08 a.m. PST --teeple] We’ve placed an unusually heavy reporting load on one of our databases this morning, and as a result, resident transactions are taking roughly five hours to become visible on the Website.
The transactions are being captured properly. This is just a synchronization issue between the database instances, and should correct itself later this morning.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
As reported here, we’re headed for about 20 minutes of down time on our credit/debit card processing today, from 2:50 - 3:10 p.m. PST. Both card-based LindeX transactions and our ability to accept new cards into the system will be briefly impacted.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
[UPDATE] 28 feb, 08 7:04 pm PST –teeple]
The Router Gremlins seem happy again, at least for now. We’ll be monitoring throughout the evening. Thanks for your patience on this; except for relaying information to you, this issue’s been out of our hands. –teeple
PS I’ve edited the update timestamps. I have it on good authority that this year is 2008 C.E., not 2007…
[UPDATE 28 Feb, 08 5:06 pm PST --teeple]
We’re seeing the same patterns of disruption (including failed traceroutes) that hit us earlier today (please see below). Callers from the UK may be temporarily unable to access Live Help Support.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
[UPDATE 28 Feb 08, noon PST --teeple]
Routing between the US and the UK has been stable for about the last ten minutes. All Live Chat support functions (including Billing) are accessible to our testers.
[UPDATE 28 Feb 08, 10:52 a.m. PST --teeple]
It appears there’s a routing breakdown between the US and the UK. We’re still investigating, but for the moment, UK-based residents may be unable to log in to the Support portal.
Our own UK-based staff are able to access Second Life, but are reporting difficulties with accessing the portal as well.
Currently, Concierge and In World specialists are available via Live Chat for residents who are able to connect. Billing assistance is temporarily unavailable via Live Chat.
*****
Both residents and our own Live Chat staff are reporting disruptions in the chat service. We’re investigating ASAP.
If you’ve been inconvenienced by this, please accept our apologies.
Credit and debit card processing will be unavailable on Saturday, 1 March, 2:50 - 3:10 p.m. PST.
This brief downtime is for vendor maintenance. During the service period, our system will not accept new credit or debit card registrations, and card-based LindeX transactions will be declined.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
[25 Feb 08, 1:14 pm PST]
Operations is currently pushing a fix to all regions which will repair summary statistics for classified ad clickthroughs.
This patch will not require simulator restarts.
[EDIT] This is a fix to VWR-3200.
As posted here, our phone service will be down from 4 a.m. until 6 a.m. this morning for vendor maintenance. While it’s possible you can get through during the maintenance, disruption of your call is possible at any time. Please reschedule your call around this maintenance window. Thanks for your patience as we work to improve support access
Our phone support systems will be under vendor maintenance this Sunday, 24 Feb, from 4am - 6am PST.
Brief disruptions of service are likely any time within the maintenance window. To ensure uninterrupted conversation, please call outside of these hours. Thanks!
