[UPDATE 5:20 PM PST --teeple]
Murphy’s Law just staged a mild surprise attack against the support phone lines, in the form of a momentary disruption completely unrelated to the one earlier today.
The vendor resolved the glitch within about two minutes, but there’s a chance a handful of calls were disconnected. If it happened to you, please accept our apologies and call back. We’re open. Really.

[RESOLVED 2:18 AM] Our operations colleagues have worked to resolve the situation. We have restarted all regions we could find that exhibited the problem and the rate of any new regions having this difficulty is low. Our operations team will continue to monitor to see if it continues to occur. Residents should report problems via the support portal if they find that a particular region continues to prevent them saving notecards or script or taking items from in-world. Thank you to you all for your patience and understanding while we worked on this issue. - Matthew
[Update 1:24 AM PST] The situation has been resolved in most of the regions it originally affected. It did not affect all regions in-world. For the majority of residents there should be no problems.
We are restarting the small number of regions where we are continuing to find inventory (and other) difficulties. Things which indicate that your region is still affected will include attachments not saving, objects not being able to be taken or deleted from in-world and scripts/notecards not being saved. - Matthew

We will be upgrading the server systems that provide the Second Life service on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 27th and 28th. We’ll update the central systems on Tuesday and, assuming all goes well, do a rolling restart on Wednesday to update the simulators.
The changes are primarily internal, providing infrastructure for new viewer functionality changes coming up in Second Life 1.18.6.
The rolling restart on Wednesday will require each region to be offline for 5 to 10 minutes while the update occurs. Unfortunately, this will not be able to be delayed by estate managers. The restart will happen in “random” order across the grid (in contrast to many previous restarts that followed a North to South pattern)
More details and time estimates will be posted here at a time closer to the actual date of the work.
