[RESOLVED 08:34 AM PST] All systems appear to be happy again. Thank you for your patience.

[UPDATE 08:19 AM PST] The grid is open to login for all residents now. We will keep monitoring things and shout the “all clear” as soon as we’re there.

[UPDATE 07:50 AM PST] A fix for the asset servers is on the way. At this point, access to the grid is still restricted to Linden Lab Employees only.

[UPDATE 06:53 AM PST] To fix this problem we need to close access to the grid for now. We will keep you posted on all news here.

[UPDATE 06:43 AM PST] Our Ops team is working on the asset server issue. Until this is resolved, we would recommend you refrain from rezzing, deleting or trying to take any objects inworld.

Over the last hour, we’ve found an intermittent issue with our asset servers. The errors you’ll see might include failure to delete or take objects, move objects, timed out requests, inability to save scripts or notecards and to change your clothes.

We are aware of this, and it is being investigated right now, and we’ll update you here with any news.

We apologize for the interruption to your sunday plans.

[3:30 PM PST] The updated Windlight viewer is now available for download as well. As mentioned before, these updates are required for anyone using these viewers. -Chiyo

[UPDATE 3:00PM PST] The Release Candidate viewer is once again available for download. The Windlight viewer should be soon to follow. This update will be required for anyone wishing to use these viewers. -Chiyo

If you are using our Windlight or Release Candidate viewer, you might have noticed that you are currently not able to login or download the latest version of either. We have found an issue concerning both of these viewers, that required us to disable them for the time we need to fix the problem.

We will update here as soon as we have news.

In the meantime, you still can login to Second Life with our main viewer.

After the viewer update, we were made aware of a critical bug that may affect vendors in a most unfortunate way - there are some subtleties involving linksets and permissions, so please visit our public Issue Tracker for a full discussion of the matter.

In short: imagine you have a number of vendors out, all set at different prices. You take them up all at once, and they are taken into your inventory as a coalesced object - meaning, they are all stuffed together as one. You then take them out of your inventory again to set them up at a different place, and all your vendors will be set at the same price.

We strongly recommend that you for now abstain from taking up multiple vendors at one time, rather you should pick them up one by one if you’re planning a move or redecorating your shop.

Our Developers Team is aware of this bug, which we have classified as a showstopper, which means it’s *really* high up on our list of things to fix. In fact, they are working on a fix as I write this, and we hope to be able to roll it out very soon.

[RESOLVED] Failed texture uploads

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007 by: Lotte Linden

Over the past few days, we’ve had several reports of texture uploads resulting in the wrong textures being uploaded to the residents inventory. You can find the according issue here in our http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-759

While we rolled out a fix for this tonight, one of our scripts failed, resulting in an about 30 minutes long unavailability of texture uploads.

Both issues are resolved.

We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused and thank you for your patience!

There will be planned downtime for voice on Wednesday, October 24th, from 2:00-3:00 AM PDT (9:00-10:00 AM GMT) to enable us to make some improvements to the voice service.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.

Network connectivity problem

Saturday, September 15th, 2007 by: Lotte Linden

Approximately 400 or so regions on the Main Second Life lost network connectivity for a short period of time this evening. The operations team had hoped to fix this swiftly, but some content may have been lost before the problem was resolved.
