Second Life news on Twitter and iTunes
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 at 9:33 AM by: Torley LindenO HAI, it’s your friendly metaverse Torley here.
Did you know…
… we have an official Twitter presence?
I know that with lots of social networks out there, you may love certain tools someone else doesn’t. So it can be useful to have the same news delivered in different ways: Twitter is a good example of this — streaming our blog’s headlines in a bite-size format — visit “SecondLife” on Twitter to see for yourself.
You can continue to subscribe to our blog’s RSS feed, or even by email to stay updated on what’s happening with Second Life.
Thanks to Cube and Jeska Linden for helping me get this established. =^_^=
… we have an official podcast?
While we haven’t used it all that much historically, things’ve been changing, and I’m regularly adding my video tutorials so you get the newest ones with no fuss. We’re planning to do more Linden interviews too.
You can subscribe here (it’s different than the main blog RSS feed), and visit us on
!

I love using Twitter because it lets me get news and updates about Second Life from other residents in a very, very quick way. So I really like this move
I suggest to use this HUD, that makes really easy to update (in world) your Twitter status, as well as receive updates from your friends - and it’s free:

I also suggest to residents that use Jaiku this (unofficial) channel:

Woohoo! I’m in.
Yes - categories would be a great idea. But as someone who creates and manages a truckload of different podcasts - I know the logistics isn’t always something there’s a lot of time for
Thanks, Torley!

Nice to see that the Lindens™ discovered that there is a world outside of Second Life™. Maybe they start thinking about integrating some features of the world outside of SL. SL could be the new internet if we could access the present internet more intuitively from inside SL and vice versa.

torley’s been up to a lot of good lately… any prospects for less heavy podcasts? i’m thinking of how long the downloads seem to take; or am i just a tech-less moaner? answers on a postcard please

Irrelevant and pointless. We’re supposed to be impressed by this? I’m certainly not.

Is anybody else getting the feeling that Torley is shoveling as fast as he can? Thanks, Torley, for all your hard work! You are the bright spot among the Lindens, and are much appreciated. (As are all those who work in the shadows to actually keep my beloved world up and running!)

Actually i’m subscribed to both ;-p
And thanks, Opensource, for the HUD advice!

Great! I’ll subscribe as soon as I fix my PC.
Thanks Torley! And, write a description in each about what’s the tutorial about, “Second Life Video Tutorial” 100 times sounds neglectful, lol.

I’m a podcast addict so I’ve been subscribed to the official SL podcast for a long time. It’s great to have the video tutorials on my IPOD. I can study them on the train, airport or whenever! Watermelon kisses to Torley, our fave Linden(TM).

Good to see, but yes, you might want to split up into different podcasts. They appear to be added in blocks, and downloading faster than I can watch lol. It started with two interviews, then Torley’s Video tips of the week were added, then machinimas, then Quick Tips, Video Tutorials, Parcel Media Tips, now Voice Tips. Makes me wonder what is next. And at 300Mb per recent podcast, they are taking up gigabytes of spaces.
