For Linux Users with a non english OS the language bug is back! :-((((

However you can start SL via terminal:

export LANG=C; /path/SecondLife_i686_1_19_1_0_RELEASECANDIDATE/secondlife

(Nr. 6 mentioned that before!)

Besides this, the viewer seem much more slow then the old windlight viewer... that is indeed a strange release...

Performance seems better (though that, I think, is because the graphics knobs are all the way down)... but OTOH, any attempt to use my inventory is a sure kill. I hope that the crash reports reveal the source of the problem.

@Sarah

I am in the same proverbial boat. (save for the programmer experience :P )

/me prepares to shut down all shops and begin using minimalist vendors.

/me downloads and installs SLeeK for possible future use as main client...

Let's hope the neglect toward ATi ends soon...
(I would at least like to know what the big deal is between the two GPU companies. I always thought it was hype...)

wow i cant beleive this was pushed into the RC. I have only tried it on my laptop, which the specs are not as high as my desktop, but this is plain ugly. Nothing about it is better than what we are currently using, expect for water features. Only midday and night were usable for me. The other 2 were so red i could not stand looking at it, needless to say what it did to my clothes. I do see the potential but we are way off here. How about give use some slide bars to adjust some of these features to our liking. From an artist eye, its just not good. Most of them have no real contrast, except for sunset, which seems a bit over done. Salvatore Dali would not any of this at all. lol

Could somebody tell the linux packager to please run:
      chmod -R go+rX SecondLife_i686_1_19_1_0_RELEASECANDIDATE
before archiving it into the .tar.bz2

That way we can install as root and run as Joe User.
