Is anyone else finding the 1.18.3.5 Linux client unusably slow? I've used the Linux client for months and now I can't use the game at all. The same computer works fine with the windows client.

Awesome! Thanks for the update! I am always happy to help track down bugs but not having access to tools that I use on a consistent basis limited my time with the RC client.

@19 Ric Mollor - dynamic detail/distance - that is such a good idea. I was just looking at Torley's updates on the WindLight project and he mentions that an improvement is coming in this area - we will have the option to render distant avatars as 2D sprites.

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Torley_Linden/Project_updates#.5B2007-10-08.5D_AVATAR_IMPOSTORS_are_AN_EXCITING_PERFORMANCE_IMPROVEMENT.21

Torley points out this is still a work in progress but it sounds very promising.

@Stephany & other Lindens: thanks, these improvements are very worthy especially the minimap improvements and as @18 Nouar DeCuir pointed out the fix of 'Quiet Snapshots' and 'Disable Camera Constraints' settings across sessions.. thanks so much.

Cheers

@ 55. Also had this problem. I created a box, attempted to change colour of box from white to red. Red colour would be applied momentarily then revert back to white.

Lag Meter:

Love this new inclusion and the solution suggestions that appear below the indicators I'm sure will prove useful for new players in troubleshooting.

GUI (Groups):

As previously mentioned, the new GUI for Groups is a little inconvenient, because the actual window for displaying members of a group seems to have been shrunk, which in turn requires additional scrolling.

GUI (Land Information Window):

Not sure what benefit sliding the "sell land" and "reclaim land" buttons from left to right will make. Perhaps it does unclutter the window some?

Performance:

As noted by both Residents and Linden Lab, Release Candidate is crashing repeatedly during a session. On start up, after clearing cache and during normal operation. Linden seems to be aware of that as indicated in a new blog post.

Have reverted back to public release for moment in order to build, altho I look forward to testing an updated Release Candidate. Until now, I had been using Release Candidates full time.

I am having major problems with building, specifically lining up textures. It keeps wanting to snap them to equal ratio rather than letting me make something more narrow than wide for example. Also its unflipping textures when I flip them and a number of other incredibly annoying things please fix
