Optional Viewer Available: Second Life 1.15.1
Monday, May 14th, 2007 at 3:38 PM by: Joshua LindenWe’ve posted a new Optional Viewer available for download - Second Life 1.15.1. Torley Linden and Bridie Linden put together this summary of what’s in the update:This optional viewer release delivers incremental usability improvements that Residents have asked us for — some which address problems that have been around a long time, so we’re glad to see them resolved. We’re continuing to work hard on bigger projects to alleviate significant pain points, and have more major fixes coming soon (for bugs like group notices failing and Friends online not working).
- Floating text is legible again! (VWR-496)
- Now easier to get to Public JIRA and other bug reporting tools from the Viewer
- Go to Tools menu > Bug Reporting.
- New IM shortcuts
- Switch between IM tabs using Alt-Left arrow and Alt-Right arrow
- Use Ctrl-W to close IM tab, use Ctrl-T to close IM Window.
- Ctrl-Shift-W closes all windows.
- Choose whether or not system folders are auto-sorted to the top of your inventory or not!
- Busy mode again automatically declines inventory offers (VWR-516).
- L$ balance now displays “Loading…” (instead of being blank) while your balance is retrieved. We know how much “Where did my L$ go?” confusion this used to cause.
- The Mini-Map is again open by default on a new install.
- The number of textures that can be sent at a given time is now limited to 5 in 10 seconds (VWR-326)
- llSetSoundQueueing works again. (VWR-42)
- Inventory folders no longer unwantedly auto-open in some circumstances. (VWR-38)
- Building Reference ruler works again.
- First digit in the “Pay” dialog correctly erases. (VWR-165)
- Open textures can be stretched vertically again. (VWR-192)
- A new option has been added in Preferences > General > “Automatic preview of new notecards/textures/landmarks”
- Turning this option off will display the normal blue dialog when a notecards/textures/landmarks is offered. The blue dialog will tell you who is sending the item and also give you the opportunity to Mute that person. This is especially helpful if you are being spammed.

I hope this doesn’t cause alot of issues
May 14th, 2007 at 3:44 PM
5 textures every 10 seconds? Does this include sending in folders?
If so, two thumbs down. This can cause a major headache to business partners.
May 14th, 2007 at 3:44 PM
This was not an optional update for me.
May 14th, 2007 at 3:45 PM
Can i buy you guys a dictionary?
optional ;
Left to choice; not compulsory or automatic
possible but not necessary; left to personal choice
Apperantly in LL land optional means > required
May 14th, 2007 at 3:47 PM
@ 3
optional until they see how it will go and if no bugs then it will be not optional..
that is good if it doesn’t have bugs that cause issues, like most updates.
Thats the only thing that scares me is the fact that nearly every udate has caused some very bad issues.
May 14th, 2007 at 3:48 PM
still no fix for prim butt *Pouts and sniffles*
May 14th, 2007 at 3:49 PM
Stop your flaming Thili, the dialouge that comes up gives you the option to decline the new viewer download. Look before you leap.
May 14th, 2007 at 3:51 PM
Not only did I find this not to be an _optional_ update, as #3 pointed out, but the autoupdater in the Mac client threw an error dialog. Bravo.
May 14th, 2007 at 3:53 PM
still prime butt? hehe dang.. im still waiting for news on a Vista patch tho.. any news yet? ya had said that FL was supposed to be a start but FL is no longer avalible and its been months insteads of weeks b4 any news is heard. I’d like to see some sort of visual effort or something like FL were we can all get together and help eachother!
its hard buying as new comp and being unable to use it.. then going back to the ‘old’ comp and realizing that SL crashes the old GC on it now spo i crash anyeays
Glad we got some of the annoying bugs fixed keep em comming
May 14th, 2007 at 3:55 PM
Well, I agree it should be optional…but I’m glad they did something about limiting textures being given. Auto-spammers suck to be griefed by.
May 14th, 2007 at 3:57 PM
… an (optional) viewer to increase performance and stability…..
… downloaded it (I confess I am mad)…..
… now crashing every 2-5 minutes - didn’t crash before….
does performance mean more crashes per hour ?
:/( no fun
May 14th, 2007 at 3:58 PM
Thank you LL for rapid implementation of requests and bug fixes that were entered on jira.
The texture spamming griefing tool was really causing a lot of problems.
Hopefully the new option to disable preview of other items will head the uncreative griefing jerks off at the pass.
Anyone concerned about this release causing problems should install it and see for themselves and, should any issues be revealed, report them properly at http://jira.secondlife.com so they can be prioritized and dealt with.
May 14th, 2007 at 3:58 PM
This looks good. Downloading right now.
May 14th, 2007 at 3:58 PM
I can’t see the fix for the crashing before startup with X600 graphics cards, or the Pagefile problem that uses 1.3 gig of paging memory and locks your computer up after using the browser for a while.
May 14th, 2007 at 3:59 PM
WOAH! Nice Job guys! Glad to see things in SL are constantly getting fixed and you’re not rolling out tons of new content and features without forgetting about the stuff that’s not working correctly! Compared to any other MMO SL sets a gold standard, keep up the great work!!
May 14th, 2007 at 4:00 PM
btw i had to reinstall the previous release this morning due to a really strange bug that affects my account only. With that release i experience about 6 to 12 crashes in rapid succession until the viewer gets done with whatever it is doing to get fully stabilized on my dual SLI system. So the crashing feature was already there.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:03 PM
“Busy mode again automatically declines inventory offers (VWR-516)”
What, you mean busy mode was (briefly) usable, and is now unusable again?
The only acceptable behaviours are (1) file incoming inventory in a “Quarantine” folder until you’re done being busy, or (2) leave incoming inventory in a pending state until you’re no longer busy.
Accidental inventory loss is bad enough, what makes you think deliberate inventory loss is a good idea?
May 14th, 2007 at 4:04 PM
As much as I bitch, I wanted thank you for the nice little bug fix and feature annoyance update. All small issues but each one generally is a Big Deal [tm] to someone (or many thousands of someones). Definately a little ray of sunshine.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:05 PM
Scrap that comment about the x600 graphics cards, sound works whooo hooo. I’ve been silent for weeks.
To any Lindens reading this, we do need the major problems sorted out in Second Life before we get new features. It’s embarrasing to show someone Second Life and to have to explain to them that it does crash like that, and don’t worry, after a minute of uncontrolled flying in to terrain, I will be back in the world somewhere with my hair between my legs.
Second Life should be as stable as possible before proceeding with sculpties etc. We don’t demand fancy features, just please concentrate on fixing well known bugs in the system.
Thanks.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:06 PM
Is it my imagination, or is there NO MENTION of fixing the bug where the group IM window keeps opening when you leave a group IM conversation? I do see mention of the failure message when you send IMs to a group - but not the most annoying one, where if you leave a conversation and somebody else speaks, you’re back in it again.
Also, can any Lindens confirm whether or not Integrity are going ahead or whether they’ve backed out?
May 14th, 2007 at 4:09 PM
i don’t care about optional but why can’t you fix linden dollar problems i can’t buy anything in last two weeks…..
May 14th, 2007 at 4:10 PM
By slowing down the rate at which textures/notecards are accepted, doesn’t really solve the problem of texture spamming. The one that is being spammed also needs to know the owner of the object that is sending those textures/notecards.
p.s.
I hope that “Preferences>General >Automatic preview of new notecards/textures/landmarks” will also tell the owner.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:10 PM
Downloaded update - but got multiple error messages on install….
When I restarted SL - was asked to download update again… is anyone else having similar issue?
May 14th, 2007 at 4:13 PM
THANK GOD ABOUT THE TEXTURE STRETCHING!!
GLORY HALLELEUJAH!
*RUNS SCREAMING FROM THREAD IN EXCITEMENT*
coco
May 14th, 2007 at 4:13 PM
Thanks for trying to fix things Lindens some of us appreciate it!
May 14th, 2007 at 4:15 PM
Looks like I’ll be reinstalling the previous version - this update won’t load on my computer - acts like it’s going to start, but then disappears from my screen before anything shows up. Weird.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:19 PM
Oh shoot, just realized it’s not optional. Great. Have no idea how to fix this new “update” now to get it running…
May 14th, 2007 at 4:25 PM
great …i think..
Should i go download it now :\. Cause im having enough SL issues already :O k im gonna go ;\ god help me.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:30 PM
@ Adam, the throttle on textures and notecards doesn’t stop you from receiving the items, it simply stops the automatic preview of further textures. This way if an associate gives you 200 textures, you’ll still get them, but you wont have to close 200 preview windows on your screen. More details in the JIRA VWR-326 issue on how it was implemented.
@ Untamable, It’s been mentioned here on the blog, I believe, that some the group IM problems are going to have to be fixed on the server side — which means a grid update will be necessary. I think the re-opening group IM is one of those things.
@ Lindens: Woot! JIRA kicks booty! Thanks for giving us this way to communicate issues with you. It’s cool to see all the JIRA issues listed in the Release Notes.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:33 PM
Wahoo! The Lindens hard at work again! Looks like a cheesecake is heading your way this Christmas as opposed to a fruitcake xD
May 14th, 2007 at 4:34 PM
dang… to all you pessimists that only have negative things to say: STUFF IT!
where’s the thank you to the staff for trying to fix errors?
here’s mine… THANK YOU!
May 14th, 2007 at 4:35 PM
Great! tons of bugs corrected, but older bugs (as old a SL itself) are still there…. like the total unhability of SL to apply a texture of a FLAT surface…. How can a thing as basic as this as never been corrected.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:42 PM
yay for welcome fixes!!!!
amd good luck with the fixes not yet listed there ;D
May 14th, 2007 at 4:42 PM
[...] (more…) [...]
May 14th, 2007 at 4:42 PM
Yes I agree with Kira. Prim butt fix is my #1 wish!
May 14th, 2007 at 4:49 PM
Yay!
I hope it works.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:50 PM
Texture send limits are no big prob. I’m sure someone will in seconds, whip up a script to enable you to bung a load of stuff in a prim and have it all sent to someone in seperate staggered groups ’til it’s all done.
Live for the grief minimization, don’t die by it. And likewise live for scripter’s resorsefulness, and don’t die from a lack of it.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:51 PM
i tried to download the optional viewer , from both sources, the website version is much faster, my problem is when i install this new version , it says i have a PIPBOOT.DLL error , and a few other DLL errors , i aborted the install re-d/led and the same error message occured…if you get these errors you should abort the install and, use the old or present viewer untill a new version comes out………
May 14th, 2007 at 4:52 PM
Some nice touches there..WTG again LL..Kudos
May 14th, 2007 at 4:54 PM
I’ve finally got something good to say about this. This really does show a step in the right direction. Keep doing exactly this frequently and perhaps the mass exodus will be reconsidered Perhaps when everything is truly improved the resources on my more than capable machine won’t be put through the SL grinder like beef to mince processing day in and day out
May 14th, 2007 at 4:55 PM
Things seem to be getting better. Inventory losses on my end as well as people I know have stopped.
What ever was done to fix this thank you.
Over 42k people logged on at once this weekend and things pretty much worked great here.
I do notice that a lot of things I have that are scripted with sound are having issues. This is from more than one vendor so I dont think it is isolated to one set of scripts.
Speaking of better I have noticed that people are beginning to work together. I have seen how store owners are taking the time to work with their customers now. I am sure thinking back at all the frustration felt over lost money and Items not delivered it must have been felt on both sides of the fence.
Some times it takes a crisis to bring people together.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:56 PM
Tell us again what was fixed. Groups IMs are not working at all now, (they were working poorly prior to this ‘improvement’ ) and large groups STILL can not send Notices… Inventory is extremely slow loading.
Is this one of those situations where LL Promised us that No Payment Accounts would not be allowed to log in?
May 14th, 2007 at 4:59 PM
Oh Yes… Group IMs dont need to work.. as TPs are down it seems. Profiles too!
May 14th, 2007 at 5:01 PM
Oh, you mean you guys can get online? Amazing. I can’t even get that far to see how much inventory this update has eaten.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:06 PM
Cool! Thanks for the update guys!
May 14th, 2007 at 5:06 PM
I downloaded that viewer, installed it, it said I have 1.5.2 already installed. Something is not correct with the version you have on your server.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:07 PM
I wish I could check out the fixes, but my computer keeps crashing horribly. Vid goes blank, and I can’t even reboot correctly. I don’t know if it’s something in the update, but, since SL was working before, and other programs are functional… Is it only me?
May 14th, 2007 at 5:12 PM
Text style flag?
May 14th, 2007 at 5:16 PM
Whoow nice list of updates :)) GREAT WORK BEEN DONE I C.
only….after dload i’m not able to login anymore..
it’s stopping at the “Sedond Life may appair to be frozen…” well and in this case after waiting 15min, i can assume it actualy is frozen
it’s letting me use the “quit button, but it stops at the same stage over and over again.
is it just me ?
greets
kamaradski
May 14th, 2007 at 5:18 PM
ok i just upgraded the sl n i can’t logg in (; what is goin on with all these problems?
May 14th, 2007 at 5:19 PM
A very special thank you to Gigs Taggart who on April 9th submitted the texture spam grief prevention patch code in jira for the Lindens to consider, implement, test, and today, deploy.
This issue was first reported in jira by doc isachenko on March 28th. Thank you doc!
http://jira.secondlife.com is there and it works albeit a bit difficult to figure out at first. A hint is to log in, then go to the home page. From there you can see a link on the right side to your unresolved issues. Very handy. What no unresolved issues? Surely if you are vocal in the blog then you must have issues to be entering in jira. Haven’t entered your issues? shame on you. Stop complaining and go to jira and be part of the solution.
45 issues fixed in 2 weeks. Not bad Linden Labs. Not bad at all. Keep up the good work. The jira brings much needed transparency to the process for those of us that understand the business and feel the need to know we are investing in something great that is gonna be here for the long haul.
This is the future of web browsing. And we get to use it today.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:20 PM
Hmmmm. Have the new viewer. Now I can’t buy linden trhoguh the client. Says “can’t authenticate you?”
May 14th, 2007 at 5:22 PM
No fix for the land sales issue?
May 14th, 2007 at 5:23 PM
Mmmm, downloaded it, and now on login, it just hangs…..
May 14th, 2007 at 5:23 PM
@32 - fefe… logins appear to be slow right now. my finger was on the new issue button in jira when i finally connected.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:23 PM
I believe the group IM’s not closing issue is a backend server problem and not a client issue. It seems that the IM system has had a ‘major’ overhaul with load distribution implemented and they just need to shake out the bugs (Which appears to be the propagation of ‘has left this session’ across the servers).
May 14th, 2007 at 5:24 PM
Wheeeeee!!! Now it won’t let me log in! Hurah!!!
I’m losing money for every half hour I am off
May 14th, 2007 at 5:27 PM
I downloaded the optional viewer — now when I start the viewer .. all I do is CRASH. I start it again and .. Crash .. and oh yeah .. after I restart my system .. I load it again and I Crash.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:28 PM
Yay for new update = No logging in?
Ugh… this sucks.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:28 PM
Telephone support on hold message still advertises LIve Help in world. Guess the Lindens never call their own number to see that it’s out of date? LOL.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:28 PM
Hmm… Seems the “optional update” is required for me to. Clicking continue when it asked me to download the new viewer did nothing? Oh well, we’ll see what happens when it finishes downloading…
May 14th, 2007 at 5:29 PM
Note: Recent items tag no longer finds recent items since I updated viewer.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:29 PM
Is this a view issue or some other bug?
Someone IM’s the group, I close out the IM window, someone replies and the window pops back up, I close it out, someone else replies and the window pops back up. Shouldn’t it stay closed once I close it???
May 14th, 2007 at 5:31 PM
Welcome to SL Musicteacher, where what things SHOULD do isn’t necessarily what things actually DO!
May 14th, 2007 at 5:31 PM
I cannot login again after the update…. being trying for over 30 minutes….
So far, no good.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:33 PM
Oh joy. Anyone know if this is a gridwide issue or just us few special people who can’t log in?
May 14th, 2007 at 5:34 PM
wtf this download sucks, im crashing hella bad
May 14th, 2007 at 5:34 PM
i hate the download!!!!
May 14th, 2007 at 5:35 PM
you cannot login even without the new veiwer no message comes up asking to install new update even typical crap lets break it more
May 14th, 2007 at 5:35 PM
wee back in
May 14th, 2007 at 5:35 PM
I can login no prob, but there seems to be a whole sim missing next to where I live…there’s just water? What is that? It can’t be the new viewer, can it????
May 14th, 2007 at 5:36 PM
The grid is severely broken at the moment. It’s irrespecive of what viewer version you have. I’m sure the Lindens are aware, but if not, Help!!! SL Is broken!
May 14th, 2007 at 5:37 PM
Edit.. it works but very slowly.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:38 PM
i dl the new viewer, logged in, found out i couldnt put attachments on so went to relog and now cant log in either- i waited almost half hour never goes past sl may appear frozen.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:38 PM
Took about 10 minutes, but I finally got through. Guess we all just have to connect, and let it sit.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:38 PM
The system may be down ??
hehe - gotta love it !! They don’t even know if it’s down or not.
Perhaps this is unrelated to the update, but something is not working now. Heck - it would appear that NOTHING is working right now.
If I see the optional download message again I might just give it a miss for the time being.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:39 PM
Recently downloaded the new viewer, am having issues loading inventory in the texture picker while editing textures on prims. Anyone else having similar issues?
May 14th, 2007 at 5:41 PM
I should note - the picker does not hang on finding textures… it simply says it cannot find any textures to apply, right off the bat, even though my inventory is fully loaded from the inventory window.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:41 PM
Great to hear, and thank you for listening to us on the ‘no more bells and whistles - get things working properly first’ plea.
I have, however, been freezing SL and my computer an increasing rate over the past week or so - has anyone else experienced this.
I can’t pin down anything consistently causing the freezes and there doesn’t seem to be any Regional consistency either.
Also - Group Notices still have a Regional instability - but at least they can be made to work occassionally.
Thanks again LL for fixing stuff rather than adding stuff
May 14th, 2007 at 5:45 PM
optional=don’t download it doesn’t work, lol
May 14th, 2007 at 5:48 PM
things seem back to normal now
May 14th, 2007 at 5:49 PM
I guess i’m just lucky, because this new viewer is working GREAT for me! No lag, no crashes. Good stuff.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:52 PM
Back in again now…
May 14th, 2007 at 5:53 PM
great round of fixes.. thanks! One REALLY annoying “feature” I’ve never seen mentioned: when I’m typing in chat, why can;t I use my keyboard arrows to edit what I’m typing? if I use them, of course the control the camera. I just wanna fix my typos!
May 14th, 2007 at 5:56 PM
I have seen many Major and minor fixes in 3 years in SL. Some of the majors was an major pain in the ass!/ The thing was L Labs then would put out incremental fix updates just like this and sometimes a little minor upgrade too. This worked wekk. The only problem was as soon as they got it fairly stable and reasonably bug free. You guessed it a new Major upgrade.
Well L labs got off that track somehow and that is to bad. It actualy worked to keep people happy they were fixing and upgrading. Now it seems it is upgrade upgrade upgrade till it fails completly. I am glad to see a return to incremental fixes.
I too am most upset that there is no word on when i will not have to remove (then reattach) my hair from haging out of my ass after TP and or sim crossings.
I normal bash the lindens about the bugs but if they go back to fixing along the way I will be happy. It was always nice to have a fairly stable SL for a few weeks before the next Major update.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:57 PM
The bug in the group functions is now worse. I have yet to be able to respond in ANY group message, so I will take my chances with 1.15.0.2; at least with THAT version I could go into busy mode and kill off the BS group spam. (anyone that has anything important to say can IM me anyways)
May 14th, 2007 at 5:57 PM
yeah ummm….. i did the update and yeah No Second Life Working For Ze Harlequin….why is it that almost every update spells out Disaster for us???? i update it and ..my screen goes in the “Not Responding” white screen of death….scary…and ummm upsetting…btw…….
May 14th, 2007 at 5:59 PM
I Want Chicken, I Want Liver, Why Can’t Second Life deliver????
May 14th, 2007 at 6:03 PM
If you have a lot of inventory please look at this and if this affects you then please go to http://jira.secondlife.com and log in. Then find issue VWR-736 and cast a vote to have it fixed.
Inventory fetch halts repeatedly at exactly 16,500 items.
This is repeatable:
1. Uninstall secondlife
2. Remove the secondlife application data folder
3. clear temp folder and empty recycle bin
4. reboot PC
5. install secondlife
6. run secondlife
7. set up preferences to max disk cache
8. log in to secondlife
9. execute an inventory search and wait.
10. Observe inventory count halts at exactly 16,500 items
Content creators have much more than 16,500 items.
Just textures alone can easily account for thousands of items.
Backups of objects created build up inventory fast.
Inventory needs to be unlimited or a cap set at 102,400.
To set this cap we need the capability to archive objects to disk but thats another feature request covered under a separate issue.
However, the two issues are related.
May 14th, 2007 at 6:14 PM
nm on the magic 16,500 number. it started counting again after a little while.
May 14th, 2007 at 6:24 PM
nods so much for Operation open leter ……..
May 14th, 2007 at 6:31 PM
The client keeps crashing after the first minute or two, even if I’m not doing anything. Does anyone have a link to the last GOOD client that will work with the grid? Can’t ask live help because there is no live help anymore.

Incidentally - I had to downgrade back to the last client as well, and it fixed my problem.
Am going to say ‘pass’ on this optional viewer.

What is this text style flag? I really liked the soft shadow around the floating text and such as it actually made it MORE legible for me. I’d like to turn it back on. D:
May 14th, 2007 at 7:41 PM
Yeah /most/ of the problems reported are not because of the client but because SL is going coocoo bananas on the server end right now.
May 14th, 2007 at 7:48 PM
So far no problems with the new viewer, not one crash since I installed it 4 hours or so ago. Any problems I have had tonight were SL network problems not viewer and have for the most part cleared up now and its running smoothly.

@ #59, Gareee,
I agree, I’ve always hated that I can’t use the arrows to go back in the chat window and edit things, it turns my AV. This should be fixed. And this is random, but why in the world are groups still capped at 25? That’s way too little, especially since it seems every product requires group to receive updates. We need a higher limit!

I doing wonderful with this new viewer. No problems at all so far (crosses tail)

I keep getting errors during the installation (of the “Error Opening File” type–for several files.) Any suggestions? I’ve tried clearing my internet cache and downloading a clean copy of the install program (on the off-chance it was corrupt), but am still getting the errors.
May 14th, 2007 at 8:21 PM
Thank you!! Works great no problems!!!!
May 14th, 2007 at 8:23 PM
Erratic teleporting. Spontaneous logouts from regions when trying to teleport. Avatar occasionally frozen on login: no fly, no teleport, no move. And spontaenous logout for no reasons at all. It’s amazing how things work until you distribute them en mass. (smiles) We’ll get over it.

I see no where in this release about fixing the massive memory leak the clients have had since 1.14 release?
Is this being worked on? Ignored? Or have no idea what the cause is?
May 14th, 2007 at 8:25 PM
“Recent Items” tab in inventory does not work
May 14th, 2007 at 8:27 PM
Look this is all good and well but what about us with vista? are you gonna make sl supportive or not and if yes can we get a ime frame? I cant get any phone help or email responce to My questions ty
May 14th, 2007 at 8:33 PM
WHY DON”T YOU PEOPLE FIX THE THE MEMORY LEAK.
FIX THE CRASHING RENDERING PROBLEM
Stop avoiding the huge issues here.
May 14th, 2007 at 8:36 PM
@80 do a system roll back.
May 14th, 2007 at 8:41 PM
The problem was when you people started adding stuff after 1.3. The 1.3 didn’t have the memory leak problem. You guys keep ignoring the huge issues at hand.
May 14th, 2007 at 8:42 PM
Once again, the client works great for me! Thanks LL!
May 14th, 2007 at 8:43 PM
Suggestion to all who are worried about this release. Don’t download and install the SL in one move using the selection on the client when it opens. Close the client, go to the website and down load your new client from there and save it on your harddrive.
Now, you don’t like the one you just installed, uninstall it and go back to the previous release. I have a copy of every client since I came in.

BTW - I am seeing 12 to 20% packet loss on the West Coast US. The problems on the network are not fixed no matter what the next blog says. This is where your problems are coming from, not the client release.

“* Texture transfers are limited to 5 items per 10 seconds”
Hmmm, while this might slow down the grief it is a Major PITA for those with texture organisers, now you can’t grab a whole category, you have to edit the linked part and drag them out.
Also a major PIT
