[Update] Land Store, Lindex, Registration - Maintenance Complete
Thursday, April 5th, 2007 at 9:53 AM by: Jesse Linden[Update 11:39am PDT - All systems back online, thanks for your patience]
We’re currently in the middle of upgrading hardware and backend systems as we build out the capabilities to handle growth of approximately one million new Resident accounts a month.
As part of this process, today we will need to take the Land Store, Lindex, and Registration capabilities temporarily offline. We are expecting this outage to last approximately two hours, beginning at 11am PDT. Please note: all USD transactions, including those performed from within Second Life, will be affected. We will post an update as soon as these capabilites are back online.

Great. My island is rebooting all the time.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:23 AM
Taking the land store offline for two hours? It has not worked in over two days! I have been trying buy an island over and over.
500 server error or Rails failed to initialize everytime. I dont how you can say you’re taking it offline for two hours, it hasn’t been “online”.
Let me repeat this because it’s INSANE, I have been trying to give your company thousands of dollars for days now, and your failing infrastructure won’t let me If theres on thing you should keep working its this.
I must be out of my mind to be taking more risks with my money here.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:24 AM
And I CANT LOGIN AGAIN. SAME STUFF LIKE YESTERDAY!
April 5th, 2007 at 10:24 AM

April 5th, 2007 at 10:28 AM
Well, you took down alot more than that, shouldn’t you just post a 7 day a week maintenance schedule? Can’t build as it is anyway….
April 5th, 2007 at 10:29 AM
Great. Not only the region is down. Whole SL is down.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:29 AM

April 5th, 2007 at 10:29 AM
Working on a vendor and all of a sudden NO bandwidth. Now i am unable to log back in.
Your talking about adding a million new accounts a month when you can’t take care of the ones you have now?
And to think some of us have put up with this for YEARS now.
Rolls eyes i must be insane because i keep logging on for my daily dose of stuff up my butt when i tp.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:29 AM

April 5th, 2007 at 10:30 AM

April 5th, 2007 at 10:31 AM

WHEN CAN I LOG IN AGAIN? D*NM*T!
April 5th, 2007 at 10:31 AM
@11 Omi Yip: When the system gets back up check your account then contact LL and get your money back. I have had troubles with slots lately where they take anywhere from 1L to 100L from me at a time… that is not big money but in your case it is!!! You deserve to be refunded!!
April 5th, 2007 at 10:31 AM
>_> I was planning on Lindex, but i can handle it. This is wierd, but us teens don’t lose any inventory
Lol. Hurray for the puny grid! ^_^
April 5th, 2007 at 10:32 AM
dejavue - does yesterday start today?
April 5th, 2007 at 10:32 AM
Why do we need 1 million datasets of void data more? Care for the paying users and not the ones that log in and never come back.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:32 AM
They are doing the best they can to fix the problems. As many people know, computers and networking tend to mess up alot or go down at the wrong times. Even when they patch something, in the line of code for some reason may make something go offline, there is no way to tell if something is going to work or not until it goes live. This goes for any type of game there is out there.
And also, if you are truely unhappy how things are ran then why do you want to spend money to keep on playing? I get tired of seeing people when a company post something about trying to fix something everyone has to jump in an down them for trying to fix it or is it the way of people to complain so much that they truely do not want the company to fix the problems?
Yes I am having login issues and things disappearing but I do not go around complaining about it, things happen on a virtual world. It is not the end of the world.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:32 AM
lol 0 people online been trying to log in for last 1hour we get no explanation of wats going on as uasual

its just gets worse every week ;/
April 5th, 2007 at 10:35 AM
Well at least they took advice from the customers yesterday that said to take and boot off everyone!!!! Then do the maintenance… at least this way its a fresh reboot rather then trying to fix something with 20K of people still on!
April 5th, 2007 at 10:35 AM
Bahhh…and I was just in the middle of….*shuts her mouth and dream about it* ….bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
April 5th, 2007 at 10:35 AM
yes.. also on website homepage.. no people online anymore. So.. the grid is down now?
April 5th, 2007 at 10:36 AM
I’m having extraordinarily long wait time to get logged back into SL. Upwards of 5 minutes or more stuck at the login screen. I was afraid I wasn’t going to make it back at all, was in the middle of a building project.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:36 AM
If SL is crashing today. I am not sure how they are going to handle the influx of log ins over the holiday weekend. :((( Could be tricky!LOL
April 5th, 2007 at 10:36 AM
Yes same here locked up here 2:25 pm cant relog on, been days no make that months of lag, log in problems, TP problems, and alot more the list goes on and on, come on get this thing running right, never mind adding features like voice or whatever, get what you have at 100% first then add stuff is that to hard to comprehend?
Spend 1600 us dollars for a sim…. 300 a month tier? the way it is here i rent not investing in it till things are one heck of alot better nad stay that way for some time.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:37 AM
I am having some problems logging in but I just kepted trying and finally got on.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:37 AM

April 5th, 2007 at 10:37 AM

Thanks a lot
April 5th, 2007 at 10:38 AM
It went down to 8 k, and then up again…I could login with no problem though. weird.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:38 AM
it keeps going from 0 put says its online or 20,000 to 8,000 omg to funny some ones had to much coffee again i think
April 5th, 2007 at 10:39 AM
sorry guys but you are hack technicians.
I work in industry where if the ‘grid’ goes down, you get fired. Simple as that.
You guys need to learn that ppl don’t want stupid new features, just reliability. LEARN!
April 5th, 2007 at 10:39 AM
OH AND NOW IT SAYS MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN DISABLED !!!!!!!!!!!
April 5th, 2007 at 10:40 AM
while absolutely nothing we say here has any affect on how well the upgrade scramble goes, i just thought i’d add that i could not log in with First Look so i switched to the regular viewer which *could* log on. hazaah, so i switched back to the First Look and there were 0 ppl online. could not log. the regular viewer indicated 20k or more and refused to connect. we live in interesting times.
April 5th, 2007 at 10:41 AM
well with several tries i got in
April 5th, 2007 at 10:41 AM
