I wonder what happened to the "we'll tell you when it is over" response that LL is always very good about updating? This concerns me in that when a restart is done, they always tell us and this time they didn't. When is the next Town Meeting?

Maybe you should read closed before replying, I didn't mention you at all.

And actually I am stupid enough to not run virus software , I never have, never needed to. I don't go to suspect sites or open email I don't know.
I installed a Virus scan program on my last PC after running for 6 months, it found nothing, but then for the next 6 months before I upgraded computers it kept announcing every 3 weeks or so how it had found a new fangled virus and removed it for me. The machine sat unplugged on the floor for 12 months and I found somehow it had picked up another 3 virus's in that time just sitting there when I booted it back up to retrieve some files.

65 Tegg B Says: Well you obviously have a short memory things were much worse in November with only 20k online. If the Virus software debug helps a few people why not anounce it on the blogs, seeing some people here are always having the same problems, it seems to me that their syatem or ISP could have some reason to blame, and inot running virus software, then perhaps they have a virus?

I cant log back in..my connections is great and i can use the net. But when i try and to login to second life it doesnt connect to the servers and ask's me to check my internet connection. I am connected. Very frustrating as I had a meeting in SL today. I did download the update just before i logged in I dont know if that has something to do with the problem

I have no problem with PDT or SL time at all, it's in the top right corner and my local time is in the bottom right corner, anyone with primary schooling maths could even roughly work out the 18 hour difference between the 2, the only bit that's confusing for me is what date /day it is as I'm often a day ahead, Australasia starts the weekend on Friday SL time and I see all these Sunday events & courses I can't make because I am at work being Monday here.

@56: Nano, while I can agree in principle, the sad fact is that the average American ... indeed, the average SL user, I suspect ... wouldn't know GMT if s/he got slapped in the face with it. I've never seen anything but a military clock that registered GMT as it's default setting, nor very many that egister GMT as an option. People go by their local Standard Time over most of the world because it's easier to translate to the day-night cycles that we have to deal with as part of our normal lives. The bottom line is that if we used GMT, here in SL, even as an option, or a second-displayed time, the vast majority of us would *still* have to translate it into our local times. There are a plethora of freely-accessible time zone translators available on the Internet and they work just fine with PDT/PST. Me? I just keep a note in everyone's profile (at least the people who have told me) of their time zones with a +/- in hours from PST. It's almost trivial to do the math to figure out that your buddy in Australia is just starting his day while you just got out of the shower and are going to bed. And, no, I don't live in the Pacific Time Zone, but I deal with it. :)
