Went back to 1.13 and been ok for a week then crash... manually deleting cache again. I hope if didnt crash because my graphics card is nearing its end from crunching through this "upgrade to 1.14".

Come on Lindens.. still not one single response to the "very small percentage"? Throw us a bone!

I have a bran new Dell computer with Windows Vista, IE 7 actualy this is my second new computer long story.
Anyhow it's a new computer so I don't think I need to upgrade anything just yet so what more should I look for the reson of the program crashing? I get as far as loading may take a few seconds then a small grey box shows up telling me my avatar should appear soon then gone.

From About Second Life:

You are at 250451.9, 258379.4, 23.0 in Xalapa located at sim2008.agni.lindenlab.com (64.129.40.12:13004)

CPU: Not supported (3000 Mhz)
Memory: 1279 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Graphics Card Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
Graphics Card: MOBILITY RADEON 9700 x86/SSE2
OpenGL Version: 1.5.4391 WinXP Release
LLMozLib Version: 1.1.0 (Mozilla GRE:1.8.0.9_0000000000)
Packets Lost: 4/553 (0.7%)
Viewer Digest: 62f26f0c-94cd-1933-6063-7fab86f82ad8

My laptop's manufacturer is Acer and the model is Aspire 1670. No new drivers just yet - and it is unlikely that they will provide new ones in the near future; this means that I'm pretty much stuck. The new viewer gave me all the rezzing problems I experienced in the laggiest moments of the most unstable builds in the past and its performance is terribly slow. I eventually had to revert to 1.13, which doesn't quite burn up the highways with its speed, but is at least reasonable and doesn't give me rezzing problems all over the place every other second.

It is imperative that backwards compatibility with ATI Radeon/Mobility Radeon 9600/9700-equipped machines that CANNOT get a newer version of OpenGL is ensured. I have already mentioned my situation with my Acer Aspire 1670 laptop.

And an update: after uninstalling and installing the latest client, I now crash every five minutes, regular as clockwork. This is NOT an improvement, I must say.

Machine: IBM (Lenovo) Thinkpad T60p, 2.33GHz Core2, 3GB RAM
Graphics: ATI Mobility FireGL v5250
OpSys: Windows XP Pro, SP2

Program runs fine, but textures with alpha channels are not sorted properly. This means that you can "see through" walls or other objects to things that are supposed to be behind them.

This is a really elementary graphics rendering problem, and a program that introduces a bug like this as a performance improvement has to cause a lot of head-scratching. What were they thinking?

Good point Spencer,
Keep 1.13 fully supported until 1.14 is really proven !!
1.14.1 Should resolve the problem for X300/X400 according to Joshua Linden, but it's alway a prey if it really will.
So how about keeping 1.14.1 optional for some while. At least give us some time to test it en report if the problems are not resolved so that we can play further with 1.13 for Linden go resolve the issues.
