Hey, in response to my first post about the radeon xpress 1100 not working on my lame vista machine. I kept updating my driver every few weeks, and 2 weeks or so ago second life finally worked! hooray. But the processor heats up pretty hot and it shut itself down once because of that. The graphics are pretty bad as well. When people are far away they look they are made with giant pixels. But it works, so i guess that's good.

Like many original XP Owners since 2001 as myself, comes time to get a new pc. I have been running my new Vista for several months. I love it. Think I am some newbie ? Not at all, I run several security groups and websites and what is most times not mentioned is that the Vista OS is now the safest most secure OS in thew world and Windows is the only Unix Certified computer disk operating system (OS) and that coupled with the security upgrades and enhancements to Internet Explorer 7 for Vista only includes the Protected Mode against malware installs. Your other OS like Mac and Linux are not Unix Certified - meaning achieving the most stable and secure OS. Mac achieved only "Unix-Like" Certification. There is an ignorance with many users about this. When malware hits Mac big time, you will see them run to Windows Vista which does not allow viruses to write to the disk. The anti-phisher technologies are updated several times an hour meaning open source like Firefox does not compete with several updates per year. This is another ignorance with users. Shamefully, Linux OS is being used in world malware botnets and attacks and open source software is now targeted. Spring 2008.

So over a year after ATI, Vista and SL are announced to be fine, I stumble accross this blog looking for help on why SL won't start up on my ASUS, ATI Radeon x2300 laptop. I'm sure I have the latest drivers, but for anyone checking this blog out: will SL ever work on my machine, and if so, what do I have to do. Any feedback would be great. J

Have a Fujitsu N6470 with ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 2600 graphics card and running Vista. Have confirmed all graphics cards and drivers are up to date with the manufactor's websites. Even tried to down load new ones to make sure..says I am current.

Still when I try to load SL..it shuts down saying graphics driver out of date.

Any ideas?

Current system specs:
Fujitsu N6470
ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 2600 graphics card
Vista
Catalyst Software Suite (64 bit drivers) downloaded
