[TIME CHANGE] Maintenance Downtime Wednesday March 14
Tuesday, March 13th, 2007 at 2:55 PM by: jeanlindenWe are planning the release of Second Life version 1.13.4 on Wednesday, March 14th 2007! Second Life will be unavailable from 6am to 12noon PDT (13:00-19:00 GMT) for the update. Please note the time change from 7am to 6am. We want to ensure a proper amount of internal testing time and so that the deploy doesn’t run longer than expected. No new client software will be required.
We encourage you to visit the the Beta Test Grid to try out 1.13.4 - see http://secondlife.com/community/preview.php for downloads.
…
Update by Joshua Linden, 2007-03-13 @ 5:40pm PDT:
Just to recap: this is a SERVER ONLY UPDATE. There will be no new viewer required - the current viewers will work just fine. Updated viewers based on the First Look: Render Pipeline Improvements work will follow in a few days.
To the best of our abilities, the Beta Test Grid will remain up - we have no maintenance work planned that should take it offline, and it should be capable of handling many more simultaneous logins than last week.
Release notes for the server side improvements follow…

Are you going to be able to leave Test Grid *UP* while updating the rest (last time it was not)? Some of us need our “fix” while we wait…and you’d get some interesting feedback too
(yes I know I have asked this 14 times, heh)
March 13th, 2007 at 3:10 PM
Hmm, I guess I could try living in first life for a bit, it is supposed to be a warm day.
March 13th, 2007 at 3:13 PM
This announcement seems contradictory. First you say you are releasing Second Life version 1.13.4, then you say no new client. Can someone clairify please?
March 13th, 2007 at 3:13 PM
when will you release a patch for vista? focus on the real problem not the dumb ones, i mean the paypal thing is bad but lighting? there are probably hundreds of vistaq users that whant to play this but cant becouse of the incompatablity and are probably as ticked as me. can you atleast just determine a release date for the patch or if your really going to try? vista is the next windows xp so please just listen to me and dont push this coment aside
March 13th, 2007 at 3:16 PM
unreal………..:/ last min noticed of this? Are you monkeys really on a time frame or just want your Banana Break more sooner :/
March 13th, 2007 at 3:20 PM
#3 Darien:
1.13.4 is a server side only release. We are deploying new code to the Second Life servers. There is no new 1.13.4 client needed for this update.

March 13th, 2007 at 3:26 PM
(that was weird!)
March 13th, 2007 at 3:48 PM
But the closing an hour earlier wasn’t. Not that I care, given that I’m stuck at school until after it closes anyway.
I do like it opening an hour earlier than usual though, at least from over here. The time difference is now 7 hours instead of 8 - woo!
March 13th, 2007 at 4:15 PM
What about dynamic reflections?????
I’ve been waiting FOREVER for that, but didn’t want to download the First Look client.
Oh, well.
March 13th, 2007 at 4:18 PM
How can this be a server-only update? Isn’t there at least the new llSetLinkTexture and llSetLinkPrimitiveParams functions, which will need to be added to the LSL syntax hilighter in the client?
March 13th, 2007 at 4:20 PM
“But the closing an hour earlier wasn’t. Not that I care, given that I’m stuck at school until after it closes anyway. ”
so why were you whining then? geez
im all for them taking it down longer if it meant proper testing…and not an evening of chaos. anyways this is good for us euros, an hour earlier …woot…so congrats lindens and thanks for listening. will bring ya bagels freahly toasted in the morning
March 13th, 2007 at 4:41 PM
In the beta version, it appears that jerky movement is fixed, but sound queueing is still broken: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-42
Thanks so much for getting jerky movement fixed! It’s been a huge thorn in our sides.
March 13th, 2007 at 4:49 PM
@Lex Neva:
The server side plumbing for the new LSL functions will be in place. However, as you point out, it won’t be possible to write scripts to take advantage of these until the new viewer is out.
Moving to a world where server updates and viewer updates are asynchronous is going to make communicating changes like this trickier. Feedback is appreciated.

I knew it was coming but the time is what i was refing to its changed from 7am to 12 noon to NOW change from 7am to 6am.
Thats my point….
I don`t mind UPDATEs But with in 12 hour the time of change is what i refering toooooooo ……
March 13th, 2007 at 5:13 PM
@14 was the time changed? and why so short noticed?
March 13th, 2007 at 5:14 PM
wAIT I KNOW NOW BECAUSE OF THE TIME CHANGE IN THE USA? is that the reason?
March 13th, 2007 at 5:16 PM
Oh no, it’s my first serious message in a long time…
By the way, some people have “appreciated” being able to log in in invisibly every now and then (when the bug makes everyone look offline), either for a break or when busy with something. Please consider adding it as an option in preferences (selectable before logging in too?). Many messengers allow you to log in invisibly.
On that note, being able to log in in “Busy” mode would be nifty.
And one more question, what purpose does “Away” do anyhow, since we can’t tell IM’ers that we are away?
Thanks and keep up the great work!
March 13th, 2007 at 5:19 PM
Okay.
I posted a serious bug/exploit several weeks ago - multiple updates ago.
Bug/exploit report #630096; an exploit that crashes any region with one line of LSL code.
I’m REALLY hoping it gets addressed with this update, as I would hate for it to ‘accidentally’ slip into some forum and get into the wrong hands.
As a sim owner, I’d really like this to not get into the wrong hands. It’s just a matter of time before someone else finds this programming error…
Take notice.
This has an easy fix.
This is exploit has the potential for serious abuse.
Thanks,
Kode

Given what they’re altering, specifically:
* Simplified many database queries to reduce database load
* Added caching and throttling for many database queries
* Distributed storage of many database tables
I think they really ought to have that longer sked. The three items above sound like they can cause absolute catastrophe if there’s any bug. If I don’t miss my guess, the above covers asset queries.

We all know what to expect. Wednesdays are no commerce days. Why whine. The grid will remain unstable until the day before the next update.
On the other hand there is always the chance they will get it right at last!
I’m hoping it will go well and we can finally teleport, shop, and give tips again. It has been months since we saw a stable release.
March 13th, 2007 at 5:59 PM
“Asset upload and inventory creation now supported via a web service (for upcoming viewers)”
Will this mean building without having to be logged onto the grid is in the future??? If so, YAAAYYYY!!
March 13th, 2007 at 6:03 PM
* Objects that do not satisfy the parcel entry rules will now correctly fail to rez
Does that refer to the situation where Build is on, but Object Entry is off and anything rezzed relocates to 0,0,0? If so, that alone makes any downtime worthwhile. That would solve so many issues of people who think they lost inventory while it’s merely misplaced :).
March 13th, 2007 at 6:20 PM
In RL, to ‘correctly fail’ is at best an oxymoron. Only in SL could it be a good and desirable thing.
March 13th, 2007 at 6:41 PM
* Objects that do not satisfy the parcel entry rules will now correctly fail to rez
Does this also fix the “can’t rez objects in the parcel even when you’re in the parcel yourself because it thinks the object’s entering the parcel” problem… or have they decided that’s “correctly failing to rez”?
March 13th, 2007 at 6:47 PM
@14: Do you realize how crazy this is going to drive us? Knowing those functions are there but we just can’t get at them?
Hopefully you can get a new viewer out soon!
March 13th, 2007 at 6:59 PM
@Micah: in RL many safety systems (eg., medical life support, security systems, etc.) depend on the notion of correct failures. In the space exploration business they have a similar concept called “successful failure.” Maybe you’ve seen the movie, Apollo 13?
March 13th, 2007 at 7:29 PM
Fail correctly is pretty common in programming actually. There’s a lot of bugs that happen because a ‘test’ of a variable returns true when it should be false (often a typo, one I’ve done myself because in C/C++ a single = assigns and two = is for ‘is equal to’, the first would make a test always true since what you’re trying to test gets assigned the true value heh).
As for the hour earlier for the Euro crowd, the time frame is the same here (other than an extra hour at the start for this update) its just that for us here in the states Daylight Savings Time now kicks in earlier than it used to. This has caused a myriad of headaches for programs that didn’t get updated rules on the change (it’s a new law that just came into effect this weekend basically).
March 13th, 2007 at 7:49 PM
Soooooo…..there is going to be an upgrade from version 1.13.3.2. to version 1.13.4, but only on the server side……we are not actually getting access to download the new viewer? Hmmm, wont having the server set up for the new viewer’s changes but making people use the old version cause problems? This blog post is confusing.

NOBODY IS WHINING! PLEASE MY BABY WHINES WE ARE ALL ADULTS I don`t know where you played before sl. But PLEASE SAVE IT!!!!!!!
As I said before, Wed updates is NO BIG DEAL! BUT THE TIME CHANGE OMG DON`T PLEASE READ ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!
March 13th, 2007 at 8:34 PM
Still…no fix regarding out of rotation prims…and another month goes by…and another…and another…and so on…maybe this is not a bug. Maybe the whole world is off a few degrees…and the buildings are just now catching up.
March 13th, 2007 at 8:37 PM
My god! Is the standing up from changing clothes bug really going to be fixed? Did I read that correctly?! That bug is so old when I first joined SL I thought it was a normal feature that you stood up when you put on a piece of clothing! Hahah, way to go you guys!
March 13th, 2007 at 8:40 PM
@29 As stated, a new viewer will be our shortly that includes fixes and improvements from the First Look client. Most all of the server changes on Wednesday don’t have a single thing to do with the viewer anyway. It’s all back end stuff on their servers. (You don’t need a new TV when your local TV station buys a different set of cameras or builds a new set for the local news shows.)
I think this is a good that LL is doing tomorrow. Especially the longer period. I remember when 20,000 bogged SL down just recently. Today there were over 33,000 and everything was very smooth for me. Later when it dropped to 30,000 I started having some troubles hehe
But any bottleneck and load distribution they can do now is good. We’re approaching concurrency of 40,000, double what only recently would bring SL to its knees. So improvements HAVE been made are ARE having a good effect.
March 13th, 2007 at 8:42 PM
@21 and @30… funny, I thought the same thing today… SL always SEEMS to run great on the Tuesday before an update and then go in the toilet for a week after. LOL
That’s why I’ve made and have been giving away the “I Hate Update Wednesdays” T-Shirts.
March 13th, 2007 at 9:03 PM
Fixed a bug where sitting avatars would stand up when clothes were dragged on
March 13th, 2007 at 9:04 PM
hmm thats was one of the word this bloger ignored. well what i ment to say after my last post that bug fix is pure love for everybody. also for them who dont change clothes or dont wear clothes *giggles*
March 13th, 2007 at 9:05 PM
So….is this going to fix the broken servers? I mean scripted ones, not the ones with sims and stuff on them ;P My update server stopped working recently, as have a lot of other servers. I don’t know how these things work, so I’m not sure if this update addresses this serious issue…?
March 13th, 2007 at 9:30 PM
Just a small note that was started by Dereck:
Dynamic reflections is currently NOTHING. I tested it and it’s not really functioning well (or my graphics card is so old that it no longer supports relections though it does some. lol)
And RC, where do you sell these??? in Second Life or in real life? If SL - too bad i’m on the Teen Grid. If in real life - too bad i can’t buy it on the web ROFL.
March 13th, 2007 at 9:53 PM
OK, folks - if you would like a place to complain, discuss SL while it’s down, without worrying about getting your posts deleted, I’ve found the perfect place for you - hit up http://www.secondlifesabitch.org! Your one-stop-shop for complaints! As a bonus, you won’t get yelled at for posting off-topic stuff to blog entries, since THAT’S WHAT IT’S THERE FOR!!!
Enjoy :>

How can you move the down time on so short notice! Now it moved right into the time of a Presentation we planned with a Client.
March 13th, 2007 at 10:55 PM
Something I’ve learnt in all my time in SL that is more important than anything else.
“Never, ever plan anything in SL on a Wednesday”.
Broccoli
March 13th, 2007 at 11:20 PM
Are you a Banana, it has been anounced nearly a week ago
March 13th, 2007 at 11:49 PM
Hey Lindens i love you. But could you please not move the downtime suddenly within 24 of it. Because now you moved it right into a presenation we where going to do. And have to reschedule to a earlier time.
Also normally you send email warnings to all the email lists, why not now. I might have noon sooner if it was pushed to my email.
March 14th, 2007 at 12:49 AM
Still no fixes for the bugs that were introduced in previous releases, i.e Teleport greyed out on profile pages, and no water when teleporting into certain regions.
The main problem of course, is lag, laaaagg, laaaaaaaaaaagggggggg, until this problem has a permanent fix, may i humbly suggest that all free and no payment info on file accounts be inhibited from logging when the residents on line exceeds, say 16,000.
March 14th, 2007 at 1:18 AM
Again re:timezones, how silly. After failing to correct your previous announcement of 3:00-8:00 GMT (actually scheduled for 2:00-7:00pm GMT) you then change it again to 1pm-7pm GMT! If you considered the REST OF THE WORLD dont care about Pacific time, the obvious thing to do would be to extend the downtime till 1pm local, then you’re back to 2:00-8:00 GMT, which is a lot closer to what the RotW were expecting anyway! SL != USA.
March 14th, 2007 at 1:31 AM
when are people going to think………there was not correction for the update time until today:/
March 14th, 2007 at 2:09 AM
“My god! Is the standing up from changing clothes bug really going to be fixed? Did I read that correctly?! That bug is so old when I first joined SL I thought it was a normal feature that you stood up when you put on a piece of clothing! Hahah, way to go you guys!”
@32 : Haha ! yes
Linden Lab reintroduce a forgotten concept : “This is not a feature, this is a bug !”
March 14th, 2007 at 2:34 AM
i say good on them for giving al they’ve got to get SL running right. i’ve had so much fun the past few days palaying SL, and i just want to say thankyou to lindenlabs for making SL
March 14th, 2007 at 2:52 AM
Perhaps a dumb question that was indirectly answered, but I’m in ENOPARSEANYTHINGBECAUSEOFFLU mode… are the new LSL functions included in the current (59036) client?
March 14th, 2007 at 3:15 AM
Wow never knew that the standing up from changing clothes was a bug, I thought it was a feature. You know like the new feature we got in November, you remember the prices for private sim went up and all the water went away. 2 million new residents now think missing water is a feature. When can I get some water for island with an imaginary water view. HELP I’m dehydrated.
GOT WATER?
March 14th, 2007 at 3:20 AM
And yes I dont know about the WORLD ~ REGION/ESTATE. .
March 14th, 2007 at 3:39 AM
Good luck all you Lindens
Happy update
March 14th, 2007 at 3:42 AM
Oh disregared # 49. I figured it out. I was told that because everynight in SL there is a fullmoon. That it effects the tide. So High tide is when we see the water, and low tide is when the water is missed.
Dehydrated and confused
March 14th, 2007 at 3:43 AM
Fantastic. I cautiously planned my corporate, live presentation around the timeframe that was first announced, so that I could show some of the newest stuff in SL to my colleagues. Now 60 people are showing up to look at a grid that is down, because you change the timeframe with 12 hours of taking the grid down. Appalling.
If SL it to be used by serious, corporate participants, you need to at least stick to the information you give. What can possibly require you to move the timeframe back one hour, so soon before downtime?
/disgruntled
March 14th, 2007 at 3:51 AM
I know the Lindens work as hard as they can. I have NEVER had a problem with customer service. Dee Linden always has answered question. Ethan Linden is great on the phone. But my favorite is my spicy meat ball, Mia Linden. But to all the Lindens keep up the good work.
March 14th, 2007 at 3:51 AM
we really dont need anymore corporations abusing sl as a cheap teleconferencing tool. If the corps want to add value by bringing in content to sell without garulous and intrusive advertising fine. But dont come here for your meetings.
March 14th, 2007 at 3:52 AM
The confusion on Wednesday scheduled maintenance times is a feature. Everytime the updates are dragged on us we have to stand up and get missing Europeans some water. I use the every other Wednesday down times (which continue to surprise me, no matter how many times they are announced as occurring every 2 weeks) to change clothes RL. I suggest you all do the same. I can accept your questions in world, today only, 6am to 12noon PDT (13:00-19:00 GMT). If you don’t know how to convert between these times and your local time don’t even think about googling an answer. It will only place and additional strain on the internet.
March 14th, 2007 at 3:57 AM
Has anyone else noticed problems with SLurls? I can not get them to work. I get a blank spot where the map should be. Tried Firefox, IE6 and IE7, on 3 different machines and none work. It appears to be a java script error. I get Line 17 Char 2 Error ‘Img’ undefined. I have had other residents try and the results seem to be the same. Just curious, since I have notified both Help Request (who said try another browser - 3 isnt enough?) and email support - no responce.
Just curious if it is affecting only a very small number of users, or just not on the radar yet.
DRD
March 14th, 2007 at 4:01 AM
Hey disgruntled, if you CAUTIOUSLY planned a corporate live anything in SL on a Wendesday when you know theres an update.
March 14th, 2007 at 4:06 AM
* Distributed storage of many database tables
Good, that will offload the traffic of a server a lot, the client have to do more work and keeping track of the data. well that how it seems to me. So there will be also a new client?
March 14th, 2007 at 4:20 AM
This option to make yourself look offline thing…. does it ever work… I mean there are times when you want to appear and STAY looking offline to everyone…..even your friends. But when a friend sends you what they think is an offline IM…they hir send…and you suddenly pop up online…discovered..not longer invisible. Isnt there anyway to hide from the SL world completely? apart from having no friends in your list…lol?
March 14th, 2007 at 4:23 AM

“* Distributed storage of many database tables

Hopefully, this isn’t the only part of the blog you read. It clearly states:
Just to recap: this is a SERVER ONLY UPDATE. There will be no new viewer required - the current viewers will work just fine. Updated viewers based on the First Look: Render Pipeline Improvements work will follow in a few days.
For one, I’m glad they decided to take an extra hour to ensure these changes are correct. With all the server side database changes, it could be great or a nightmare. Caching and throttling queries on the server side COULD affect the performance of some of your neat little gadgets that you expect to update every second. Also distributed tables will help solve the big download times to the clients, if the tables are independent and there are multiple copies.
Good luck everyone, I hope to see you on a new and improved Second Life.
March 14th, 2007 at 4:29 AM
#55: So, if someone is using SL for their work, their needs aren’t as important as those of folks just here for fun? Strange reasoning, it seems to me.
#58: Good point. Any Wednesday there is an update scheduled, it seems unwise to plan on access to the grid anytime from 30-60 minutes before until…evening Pacific time?
March 14th, 2007 at 4:32 AM
Can u tell me, why u have to downtime at an awful time for people in the UK and Europe?
It seems you forget about us..
can i assume this post like all my other posts get deleted??
March 14th, 2007 at 4:34 AM
I would like to know when us Vista users will be able to long in to SL. I read it said a couple of weeks. Is that being worked on. I have this new pc and can’t play SL on it. Thank goodness i still have my old pc lol. Thanks

Teleports seem to be down in Beta
March 14th, 2007 at 4:58 AM
I agree with Tracey. (#62) 19:00 GMT will be 20:00 in the Netherlands where I live. But I’m at home around 17:00, shower, dinner and would then be online at 19:00… Means I have to wait (at least) one hour before I can “play” again…
I just hope that future downtimes would be divided more equally around the world so it wouldn’t be the same players who get hit by downtime all the time.
Still, I understand the problem. A down time of 6 hours is quite long, though. But no matter which time was chosen, someone on this planet would just have to nag about it.
March 14th, 2007 at 4:59 AM
Correction, I can not tp out of oak grove, but I flew to balance and was able to tp then.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:03 AM
beta is screwed. inventory will not load. guess somebody didnt know what they were doing when they screwed it up. or maybe its intentional. so many things always screwed up. it cant be accidental.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:03 AM
Ok, this down time complain to those in UK and Euro … am sorry but you are not the only onces that it bothers. It is inconvient to any that do not work or sleep during those hours. SL has run on those times since it started, frankly deal with it like everyone else does.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:04 AM
I was going to use beta to work on some textures, but Inventory wont update in beta either. There is nobody here as yet, so it isn’t load. I guess it is because of the db work they are doing on the main, those things can not be shown in beta either. Oh well.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:05 AM
testing
March 14th, 2007 at 5:06 AM
The Beta Does Not Work and after the update Second Life Live Most Probably Wont Work Either And I Am Not The Only One With This Problem So PLEASE Stop Deleting Our Posts And Fix It.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:06 AM
even the blog is screwing up now. nap time.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:07 AM
Just trying to log onto beta and #58 gotta back you on that one radio - really dumb to plan anything on update day
March 14th, 2007 at 5:09 AM
Part of the data that beta uses for inventory is taken from main. I assumed it was done when the beta was updated, but I now wonder if it is linked to the db servers they are working on this morning. Beta was fine an hour ago, I checked. My inventory is now starting to load, but very slowly. Also tp’s are very erratic at best. Seems you can tp out of some regions, but not others.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:10 AM
i can’t even connect to the beta
March 14th, 2007 at 5:11 AM
beta is down. cant log in. wish ll would hire people with qualifications in SCM and SQA.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:11 AM
TP’s seem to be stablizing. Interesting. Well, see you all later, I hope -
March 14th, 2007 at 5:12 AM
Beta is down - pathetic
March 14th, 2007 at 5:13 AM
Hi all
I know that everybody won t care about it, but i m sure that many ppl r in the situation as me.
Why every wednesday? why every week?? The wednesday is my fav day to spent time on my SL business… yeah.. some ppl can work today..
And second thing.. why don t u change schedules every week??? I live in france, and this is the best schedules to be on SL… Please, stop to think that america is the center of the world. i know that linden lab is on Pacific time, but please, be flexable. I am a paying customers, and the center point of my business SL is the wednesday, in the middle of afternoon… that is to know.. NOW.
I m sure this is from your point of view the best time to make all the technical stuff u make, and that i don t understand. But u have customers, and u have to take care of them please ( again)
All of these were just French written suppositions and propositions. So i hope u ll understand my pôint of view.
Keep on LIndens, SL is a great thing
congrats

Actually, the -time change- was posted at LEAST early yesterday. So it’s an hour earlier? Why are you buggin? It’s an -hour-. Be happy lindens are working on problems in this game. They -could- have just put the game out and left it that way, bugs and all.
I can’t -believe- how terribly people complain about this. I’m with everyone else, and sure, I dislike the downtime because I like to play, but are some of you SO irritated…that you can’t go put in a movie? Take a walk? Go for a drive? Do some shopping? Clean? Anything else than sit here and complain that you aren’t staring at a TV screen, rotting your eyes out?
Thank you for trying your hardest to work out the problems this game has, Lindens. Keep up the good work.

Yeah so much for:
“To the best of our abilities, the Beta Test Grid will remain up - we have no maintenance work planned that should take it offline, and it should be capable of handling many more simultaneous logins than last week.”
Woot to the best of their abilities!
haiku for u-
It’s Wednesday again
Spring has shown her lovely face

Reply to Nad Gough
I have to firmy disagree Nad. I just sniffed my shirt, and i’m certain that i’m good to go till at least the next update (turns her shirt inside out). See? I do however love to take advantage of downtime to prepare meals for the next two weeks for the family……OMG Where’s my family?

1) Plan on this every Wednesday.
Go read the SL tips on reducing lag. Many of the causes you can fix yourself.
2) The employees live in California. This is when they work.
3) I hear the majority of users is in Europe, where are the majority of PAYING users? (yeah, LL is a business)
4) Not all countries push credit cards like the US, so a lot of the world would be excluded if this was totally a pay-to-play system.
5) SL is vastly more complex then WoW or any other online games because all the servers are interlinked, the content is user-created and it is all stored centrally. (compare the sl program download to the HUGE WoW one)
6) Not all US users work during the day, so don’t assume we don’t mind this time for SL being off.
7) Clean out your inventory and empty your trash! You lag yourself every time ya download the same 4000 freebies at each login!!
9) Don’t assume everyone has the trouble you do. I have been on for 4 months, and I rarely have the problems I hear people go on about. Most of them seem to be due to the activities they choose, such as making items with lots of prims, creating complex scripts or wearing tons and tons of prims on their avatar.
10) Run your computer maintenance Wednesdays. Update, defrag, scan for viruses… doing these things will probably help your SL experience a LOT!

I am too lazy to have a look, but wasn’t there an announcement earlier, that in the future the software will be in a state that no weekly downtime is necessary anymore?
Or can we assume a regulary downtime now on every wednesday? Thats kind of new, has not been frequent like this for example last year.

Very long time wthiout acces to Second Life, always in europeen best hours.
That about objects disparitions bug ?
Three danse table disaperd on my land this month, nothing about this bug ?
What about the French beta version ? no way to parametter groups in French language.
What about ejection ability’s for members in a group, i ‘ ve given ejection abilitiy at 3 members off my groupe on my land, and this fonction is bug !
What about lag ?
Well a lot’s hours off and nothing for that sort of bug.
Hope you could do some thing for that one day….
Just a last question : Second Life is there only build for US, or is it realy a international game ?
We had a lots of hours to meditate about that.

“Thank you for trying your hardest to work out the problems this game has, Lindens. Keep up the good work.”
Get the poo off the end of your nose, it doesn’t look good and it smells!
Guess they should have tried the bets with 20k users sooner, huh?
March 14th, 2007 at 5:21 AM
You can’t save things in the BETA. It exists for users to help test the next updates during the week before. They only leave it up to appease people that just can’t stand a few hours without SL of some form.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:22 AM
blablahblablah,..good luck lindens may the source be with you:-)
March 14th, 2007 at 5:24 AM
Are we going to be able to TP people that are not on our friends list again?
When you update the viewer, could can we put minimized windows back down on top of the button bar again so we can see all of the chat dialog again?
Those two would be real nice *smile*

“No, actually, it’s complimenting the work on a well-formed game. If you think they do such a crappy job, quit playing. One less person crowding the server.”

Beta : “logging in. second life may appear frozen” ! lol *may* . Is anyone else on there?
March 14th, 2007 at 5:27 AM
credit where cridit is due, SL is a first
and also a very complicated thing too. the fact it even exsists is a miracle
March 14th, 2007 at 5:27 AM
“* Friends list now correctly displays online friends upon login even if your “Can see my online status” option is disabled”
WTH? Anybody else notice this? What’s the point of disabling the “see” option if you broadcast your arrival anyway? Or am I reading that wrong?
March 14th, 2007 at 5:29 AM
Does the no more standing up to put ON clothing fix also work in reverse? In wich case my stripclub will be very thankfull to the linden gods. ^_^
March 14th, 2007 at 5:31 AM
Can’t get into Beta either
March 14th, 2007 at 5:31 AM
Hm….One thing I would like fixed is the attachments falling off or HUDs vanishing after Tping.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:33 AM
*Usagi Are you for real or you just that ignorant..every update you say the same Stuff get a clue,bud..gosh such ignorance..annoys the heck out of me..Sounds like you need to spend some time in rl, or is it that you have no friends in rl so you come here to bitch an moan??

SLers, u bored, can’t find anything to edit? Lack of terraforming got u down? Can’t help missing ur Closet full of clothes and toys? Join the Whinesday group at yahoo and come join us as we bang on things: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Whinesday/
March 14th, 2007 at 5:36 AM
Surprise…unable to get into beta!
March 14th, 2007 at 5:36 AM
Dwoozle - I think you are reading it wrong. If I’m right here, this is talking about when you login and one of your freinds is online that has allowed you to see them but you have disabled there access. under these circumstances, presently, you can’t see that they are online but you can if they subsequenly relog.
Hope that this helps.
Niki

“Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong” when we try to log onto the Beta site. Unexpected by who?
I think most people who’ve tried to access Beta during an update would have laid bets on this happening - it usually does!

Tracey Says:
Can u tell me, why u have to downtime at an awful time for people in the UK and Europe? It seems you forget about us..
Dayshift for them ias when they have their best tean and all the people who wrote the update if there are problems, also ever tired buying last minute computer hardware at 1am?
March 14th, 2007 at 5:38 AM
I went outside today.. what a glorious day it is too, birds singing, blue sky, fluffy white clouds, old men whistling, children playing and laughing, old ladies trundling home with their shopping bags sweating in their huge winter coats…. shame i had to get on public transport which lagged like a bugger and made me very very late, good luck LL hope the update sorts a few things out for us poor commoners.
March 14th, 2007 at 5:38 AM
Success can be measured by the amount of complaints you get. The more complaints, the more success you have. The Lindens are doing a great job if I look at this blog.
To the Lindens, please don’t take these complaints personally. We nag, we whine, we might even misbehave but one thing is clear: we LOVE this game. (Else we would have been complaining somewhere else…)
March 14th, 2007 at 5:39 AM
@#93 Models/Photographers will thank LL as well if this is true!
* Fixed a bug where sitting avatars would stand up when clothes were dragged on
Could someone please clarify? Does this mean I can change clothes without being kicked off a poseball?
/me crosses her fingers, muttering about the testy LL camera functionality to begin with, let alone repositioning every time there is a new outfit to shoot….
