[RESOLVED] Reports of Routing and Presence Issues

Everything should be very close to normal now. You’ll soon see regions start to come back on the grid. Our team is going to continue to monitor the grid in case anything starts to kick back up. Thanks for all your patience and understanding today.
[3:33pm SLT] Many regions are experiencing stalled upload queues, which is causing the majority of the problems we’re seeing. Since uploads are blocked, these restarts will often cause crashes or presence issues. Our opperations department is focused on it and will continue to update as time passes. At this point in time, we are looking at a couple of hours until we can get most regions stable again. Thanks again for everyones patience.
[2:50pm SLT] Hello again! Things seemed to have kicked back up again. We understand there are Latency and Presence related issues currently on the grid. Teleports and other asset related issues are being reported. Please do not IM Help Request, we know about these issues and operations is working on it. Thanks for your patience. 
[12:59pm SLT] Most of the avatars who have been having Presence issues and can’t log in- have been cleared. So if you’ve been stuck, try logging in. I’ve been told we are making progress and won’t stop until we have it fixed.
[12:42pm SLT] This seems to be a constant issue, however small. Our Operations team is working on it and continuing to try to minimize the number of regions this is affecting. I’m shutting of comments for now and if you continue to have a region affected please email support. As soon as we have more information, we’ll pass it on. Thanks for your patience.
We have a few reports trickling in from Liaisons and residents in world about presence issues in particular regions, Teleport failures and Rezzing in world moving slowly. If y:ou are experiencing any of these problems in the last two hours, please list the name of the region having trouble in the Comments section of this post. This way we can pass the region name to our Grid Monkey, who is currently donning his cape and flying in to look at the problem. Please only post region names as comments, let’s leave other questions aside for now so we can get this fixed first. More as it develops….

When I try to teleport to Egret Island, I get logged out. This has happened to friends as well. ALso, while I’m posting, my island “Gannet Island” was misnamed “Gannnet”, it’s not supposed to have three “n’’s in the name. I’ve sent three e-mails to Jack Linden with out result. Perhaps you could fix that as well?

I’ve just bought a horse at the AKK ranch at Aeos. I took the horse into my inventory where it promptly disappeared!!

Just about all azureislands regions are ‘foggy’ and teleport is messed up on them. Particularly Umbriel and ratin, those are the two i most visit, but as an admin, i have reports of over 50 - 60 sims having problems within azure.
Don’t know why you guys had to open up registration… Everyone that pays for the game is being shorted out because you guys had to let 10000 free members in… *Scratches Head*

Hi - The sim “ESC 2″ appears to have issues. I last logged out there as Hank last night, and I can’t log in as Hank today - I get an error message. My alt who logged out elsewhere can get into SL fine, but if I try to teleport to ESC 2 with an alt, SL crashes.

Hmm. At least the presence issues aren’t “unconfirmed” - they persisted allready yesterevening starting around 4 PM, and I was on mainland at that time (later at selby, with the same presence info problems).

I have tried to log in 4 times so far. When it gets to Waiting for region hand shake, it stops logging in and says, Unableto connect, Login packet never received by the login server. Please try again in a few mintues. Is this part of the issue happening?

Relogged and was invisible and penniless. When I tried to relog again was told I had to wait until 9:41 (5 minutes) until my account would be active again. Logged back in now, but cannot use search and having trouble getting attachments to rez. About 20 minutes ago had to try several times to teleport from Caledon VictoriaCity to Morrison.

I am having trouble with the login. I crashed earlier when opening a texture and i tried to log back in and it said “Your account will not be available until… (5mins later)” So I waited 5minutes, and it then said the same thing again,a nd i had to wait another 5! It kept on doing it for about 45minutes, so I gave up, went on the beta grid, and met some people who are ahving the same problem. It’s been around 2 hours now, that i havnt been able to log back in.

Yes, I’m posting for a couple of friends that are having trouble in toowoomba. It’s not entirely the same problem, but it may be related. This is the link Hermia Linden gave me in game.
The problem is people getting crashing out of game and not getting booted. There was also a ‘hole’ in the sim near one of my properties last night, that someone kept falling thru the world with. Once again, this is in Toowoomba

Am reporting wonkiness at : Thomson 234, 20, 34 (PG) . Reporting Slowness, objects don’t rez, time lapses, extreme lag at times, non responsive teleports, Av features don’t load and or rez, experienced error that told me I did not have enough money to buy a 0L$ box, Notecards failed to load or loaded with permission banning from viewing it, and slow loading times for menus.
Have since teleported from region but took multiple attempts and multiple location variations.

Hi i want to report toowoomba as having problems. I had problems rezing stuff earlier, like an hour or two ago. also i’m having problems logging back after crashing cos my alts are’nt being logged off. i found a workaround to this problem by logging an alt and when that alt crashes, and not being logged out i log back onto teh original alt. logging alts seems to free up the other alts, even though i still see them online when i log in. even the auto logout is’nt working. not an ideal solution.

To crash my account, i press ctrla lt delete and get my task manager up, go to processes, find secondlife.exe and them highlight it and click end task and ok.
It means your havnt logged out properly and it makes the SL client think you’ve crashed and ask you to send a crash report, that’s how you crash yourself

Trying to teleport to any island causes me to crash out. Trying to log in directly on an island causes a login server error. The inworld map shows all islands as empty ocean with thousands of telehubs floating in the sea.
The mainland seems to be relatively stable, although chunks of it have been blinking on and off on the map all day.

fyi for the hard working grid monkees: if you log out then everytime you try to log in resets the cant log in till time for another 5 minutes. i.e.; cannot log back in forever. so crashing and logging in to a region directly is no longer a workaround. in case that helps you troubleshoot the issue etc etc.

Three out of 5 times when I telport to a new a area, my hair ends up on my ass. Once when I logged on my furry head ended up attached to my crouch. I’m not sure what my AV is doing when I’m offline but I’m not very happy about being a part of it when I come back

Very definately seeing a problem. I can to add items to an object, times out with error - creation of item to in-world object failed. Also my inventory did not load at all until I forced a search, and then never got completely loaded until about 30 later. When attempting to rez oject from inventory, got the little - Do Not - symbol about 7 out of 10 attempts. This all seems to be related to extremely high packet loss I am seeing. Roughly 22 % and higher. My connection however, when I ping my web server for example, is running at 6+mps. and 0 packet loss, so not on my end. Also, not seeing this issue this a.m. on Beta.

My character has been stuck in logout-queue for about 1.5 hours now. It keeps adding 5 minutes. I wait 10 minutes, retry login and same happends, another currentTime+5 minutes formula is added.
When i use my alt-char, i can find my stuck avatar in-world and bump it around just as if i were online. Weird stuff indeed.
Could some linden please force a logout on my character or something? Thank you for any help I get.

hmm i see database issues are just the haze off of swamp gasses playing with our minds, guess some of LL have served in the air force maybe used to putting down those ufo rumors too?
maybe if you would log into sl on a normal machine and try being something other than the demi gods yu all believe you are you would see what we all have to deal with daily.

We have been having problems at our home in Lasiocampia. The ability to select, modify, and use objects has been random at best. We have had lag issues and problems with objects previously placed or attached to the AV (such as shoes) sinking throught the floor, as well as the development of a problem that, when teleporting a person to our home, they end up in the floors between levels. These problems have been somewhat ongoing, however, the teleport problem is a very recent development.

Logged out half a dozen times when attempting to tp into Gyeonu, and have had several other tp problems in different regions, the names of which I cannot remember. This, together with the initial login problems this morning, is proving extremely frustrating and annoying, and I feel it is not helpful in your blog to describe these issues as minor, unconfirmed, small hiccups or resolved. One small login or tp failure may be inconsequential to the army of Lindens sitting in head office, but is a major issue to the poor sod of a customer raging with anger and frustration and screaming blue murder at the Lindens when these things fail. The grid fails and exhibits problems so frequently that I cannot understand for the life of me why you lot don’t invest in proper backup, failsafe and redundancy facilities to ensure proper 24×7 delivery of an efficient service. I never get replies or comments in return to anything I have ever posted on here, so once again will assume that you’re happy with this state of affairs as long as you’re taking our money, or probably just don’t care enough to fix it properly once and for all. Everytime I try to login, it gets to waiting for region handshake and then says “unable to connect login packet never received by login server. This has been happing at least since 8AM EST.

Now im just unable to log back into SL, when ever I try it says try back at this and that time, but when i try logon after that time, i get a new message about log on time being 5 minutes more than current time!! thats been going on for a hour now!!!

I bought 2 horses at AKK ranch. I believe at Aeos(?). after Rezing it, I “take” it back, but it never made it in my inventory. Same thing with the second horse, that I gave away to a friend. After rezing, she “take” horse back, and not in inventory. After failing to find horses, we tried to lig out and back in, but i keep getting the “logged out until xx:xx” box. When I wait the time it says and try to log back in, the time moves up another 5 minits. Am I out the 4000 L for the horses? And will I ever be able to log back in again? Its been perhaps 2 hours as of the time of this writing.

my region is Moolmangchoo trouble i had was rezzing message came up “attempt to rez an object failed” tried several time same message
