The Second Life Grid is Open
Thursday, December 28th, 2006 at 11:27 PM by: jeanlinden[10:53am PST] To let everyone know exactly what happened, we are currently working on a summary of what exactly went wrong and how we resolved it. It will be posted as a new blog entry once we’ve carefully sorted out all the details.
[10:44am PST] We’re opening up the grid. Engineers have finished working on the hardware, and systems have stabilized. If there are any additional problems, we’ll update this blog post immediately. Thank you for your patience!
[9:23am PST] The engineers are still working on the problem, with no change to estimated time for bringing the SL Grid back online. As things change, you’ll see it here first!
[7:29am PST] Unfortunately it looks like the SL Grid will be down for as many as 5 more hours while we work with the manufacturer on the hardware issues from earlier today. As we get more information we’ll continue to post here.
[5:16 am PST] Hi folks, discussions with our hardware vendors continue, and we’ll keep you updated as often as possible. Thanks for your continued patience whilst we work on resolving this issue.
[02:00am PST] Second Life is still down while we work with our storage hardware vendor. No estimated opening time yet, but it could be many hours. Get some sleep, go for a walk, give your First Life a chance!
[01:56am PST] Alright everyone - we are still in the midst of cleaning up. Unfortunately this may take a few hours. Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
[00:50am PST] Not quite clean. Grid is back down.
[00:39am PST] Recovery and clean up complete - grid is now open.
[00:20am PST] Asset Server has recovered and we are in the midst of cleaning up before we re-open.
[23:13pm PST] Due to asset server issues, we have had to logout all users. We are investigating the problem.
Thank you for your continued patience! We will keep you updated.
