Strange Grid Hiccup, Seems to be Resolving

I was getting these messages when opening a script (that i wrote)…

Yeah I have that problem too, one of my items has simply ceased to exist, even when I open a new box, that item is missing.

Yeah - lost about 2-hours of work.
Everything going fine - building stuff…
Took it into inventory just before this happed - went to do a test rez… wouldn’t rez.
HMMMM…
Logout - login - it’s gone.
Now that the problem has ‘corrected itself’ - it’s still gone.
Even if I relog.
Along with the time and effort to create it
So, Linden people - just a head’s-up that some people who were working on objects in-world that were new (not yet in inventory) - those objects may have been totally lost.

Teen SL is having problems too, I signed my son up and he has had nothing but problems since. Being unable to log on, buying stuff, but having nothing in inventory, losing the ONLY clothes that he was given to start with. And not really any help to fix this problem.

Yeah, I hope the 18 bucks I spent on the 5000 Ls (which is now gone) ‘corrects itself’ back into my account, or I’m going to be one hot little potato. I also can’t even see myself anymore.

What’s it mean when my sim goes pink on the mini-map? :/ Obviously, I know it means Something Bad is happening, I’d like to know what, on a technical level.
I’m glad I noticed that things were taking forever to save & took to copy & pasting the script I’m working on into TextEdit. I’m sorry for all the builders who can’t do the same.

I just tried to log back in. I started Second Life, clicked connect. After a while it said the sim couldn’t be reached and to try later.
Funny thing is, I got a mini map, and had a “Stand Up” button. I was still at the Second Life greeting screen though. Very strange…

I beleive a pink sim on the mini-map means that region is temporarily offline.

I just lost an expensive pair of wings and another object from inventory after trying to rez them on the ground on my own land. They are not in inventory, not on my property, not in trash or lost and found.
It’s pretty useless when a user is afraid to use any more items in inventory for fear of losing them as well.
I’m really hoping that this is resolved in a timely manner and my objects are returned to me.

This happened to me. I logged in and my whole avatar was completely invisible except for prim hair and a few other prim things. More importantly all of my L$ was gone. A message popped up that my clothing was still downloading and other people would see me normally. But it wasn’t just my clothes (thank Goddess) my whole AV was missing. I logged out and came back later and everything seems to be working OK now. But it was really weird for a while there!

Alpha - I’m not sure about your particular inventory issue, please follow up by contacting support directly.
Search Places was turned back on yesterday, but there is a small bug - currently when you are on the Mainland, you are unable to search on estates and when you are on an estate you can only search on that estate. We’re currently investigating this further, please watch this space for further updates.
Echo/Lash/Yngwie - I believe that a pink region on the mini-map means that you are not longer completely connected to Second Life or that the region has gone into a physics “deep think” or crashed (as mentioned). Try relogging and see if that clears it up.

It might have been the last release, don’t know, but group permissions for land editing don’t seem to work properly. Setting the parcel powers “Always allow ‘Edit Terrain’” no longer allows my terraformming group members to edit the terrain height. Now, it seems that it will work in combination with something else, don’t know what. Having godlike “officer” powers seems to work, but just turnning on the edit terrain power does not do it.

Saying that search places mainland to estate being unavailable is a small bug doesnt sit well with me… sometimes when reading the blog i feel like i’m watching that scene in Naked Gun where a building is exploding and Drebin proclaims “nothing to see here folks”
I’d really prefer more energy was put into sealing up what features we have already than was spent adding new ones and new bugs each and every week so we can all enjoy a period of stability for once.

Purchased a pose ball today at a cost of L$2200. Tried to place it at the time of your probs. Object failed to rezz. Has not returned to me, has not coalesced but disappeared completely…..in the last week if this i not returned i will have lost / lost the use of items to the value of L$10000 due to similar issues. Annoyed and getting very poor. DD

I just love it how there are issues which resolve themselves. I wonder, these self-resolving problems: does anybody ever figure out what causes it and tackle the problem?

A tip to all you scripters out there:
Saving in world does not guarantee your scripts/objects will still be there, at least in these times of change. On Thursday I had one script totally disapear and another revert to a state that was several saves old. This is after they were reported as “successfully” saved. Well over an hours work down the tubes.
I suggest that you download one of the many editors and do your work offline and transfer the scripts to your objects. Or, frequently save your inworld scripts to a file on your PC.

There may be a way to save objects and textures though CopyBot type tools, (gasp! did I just say that?) but I haven’t attempted anything like that yet.
What would be fantastic would be some integrated way for Second Life to support saving/loading scripts (and maybe objects?) from an outside source, like my PC or web page, without having to provide my own web server and specialized scripts. Even better would be integration with some sort of version control software.

This is a rather disturbing post. It seems to say that something happened and LL has no idea what and how to fix it. Is there some mechanism in place to actually show what is going wrong and giving your “Grid Monkeys” some direction on coming up with a fix?
And as to the term “Grid Monkey”, its somewhat unprofessional. I know that any place I’ve ever worked if we ever refered to any of our network technicians or engineers with a similar term in front of a customer there would have been hell to pay. Good natured rivlries and banter is fine in a friendly workplace that does not carry over in to the world of customer relations. Use of terms like that not only belittle the role that these people play in your organization but give the impression that you are “not quite ready for prime time.” I understand the desire to appear and be friendly and on the same side as your customers but when people invest time and money with a company whether to be entertained or to run a business, they feel much more comfortable when they can trust the people supporting their endevours to be highly qualified and professional.
If your “Grid Monkeys really are monkeys please disregard this comment.

Ooooor it could be that they’re not stuck up and are actual technical people. Let me clue you in on something. All technicians have some degree of fun weirdness to them. It comes with the mindset. If you’re going to let their title affect your opinion of what is for all intents and purposes a game, gtfo.

Still having “Waiting for region handshake/Login packet never received” issues here.
Tried all the solutions offered, but after a few hours of trying, i’m getting a bit sick of it.
Is this problem related to the problem there is like described in this topic?

Yeah, my inventory is missing also. Everything was fine, till game crashed, relogged, and most of my inventory is missing (especially the new items I was working on for the past 4 days! grrrr lol) Maybe someday it will return home………hopefully by the next update…maybe? lol

I few bad problems with my avatar and the menu. The options like sit on or use item, work with it or else don´t work anymore since 3 days. Yesterday my avatar stopped moving properly. It doesn´t turn anymore. I tried to relog and to installed the program again.
It all looks weird.

It seems I cant unpack from a box some plants I just bought, at the begining I couldnt drag the complete folder, now I cant do it even an item at a time, and now I cant even see the contents while in edit window, not even take the boxes into my inventory.
This is really frustrating!

I had a weird thing happen today.
I tried to open a script and it open the script editor, saying “loading…” in text editor. Somehow, “loading…” became editable and no script appeared. I can’t reproduce it though. :s

the loading message appears in scripts when there’s a lot of database load or network lag, if you open it again later it is usually intact. Not sure what happens when you click Save when the loading message is up I’ve never wanted to destroy a script to find out.

Ravanne - I too come from a very strong IT engineering / technical background, and to have to face clients etc. I have been in the industry for quite some time now and if there is one major thing I have noticed, that has always been and probably always will be is a IT-litracy breakdown in communication between IT people and non-IT people. I am sure you know what I mean.
LL are simply trying to bridge that gap with their Grid Monkies. I think it is a great idea that LL come down to the level of non-IT literate people, show their face and talk in plain English (or whatever language). As for the term ‘Grid Monkey’, I find it quite amusing and do not see it being derogative in the slightest. It is long overdue for the communication between IT speak and plain English to be translated. If LL wrote their blog posts using every acronym under the sun and talking about the ins and outs of their systems and what was worg/been fixed the majority of SL residents would become bored very quickly and would probably take it that LL was feeding them a load of techno-babble to put the residents off asking for their entitled answers.
I feel LL are doing a great job and I’m sure they are constantly under a mountain of pressure. just lately Ll have gone from strength to strength with their communication techniques and I’m sure the majority of SL residents are happy that they are being spoken to in a way people should be spoken to. If I am wrong I WILL eat my hat!

Love ya Jeska, but it’s not “a small bug” to those of us with an island who currently can not have anyone find us in search to teleport over. Unless they already made a landmark, my island receives no new visitors since they can’t find the place from the mainland, or any other estate. I can’t even provide an affiliated group with a landmark because group notices with attachment won’t go through. My market sales continue to bottom out because no one can find my island in search, and can’t fly to it directly because it is not linked to the mainland. Any ETA on this fix? I hope it just won’t be bundled into the Wed patch because if it can be fixed before that, it might actually put me back on the road to some meagre returns. As it is now, I continue the holding pattern of stagnation started a week + ago when search went boom.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand the IT and techie mindset having worked in the field for a while now. I’m sure the “Grid Monkeys” probably love the term and I hope that even when the sky is falling it helps to keep spirits up. What I’m trying to say is things like this can color peoples perceptions of how you run your business. The face you show the client should always be totally professional. That doesn’t mean you need to be stuffy and stuck up but it does mean you need “play” during play time and “work” during work time. If as a business owner I nedd someone to work on my network and I open the “Yellow Pages” and see two listing - Grid Monkeys and Network Professionals. guess which one I’m going to call? It may be that Grid Monkeys is the better company as far as skills and expertise but they have not shown me that they are professionals. I’ve had to deal with the aftermath of situations where an employee has shown an unprofessional face to a customer and trying to regain the trust that is needed in a business world is hard.
Having talked a hotel into opening their waterslide at 3:00AM so that my installation crew and I could unwind after a tough and long day I understand the need to play, but it should be outside of the customers view. Even when we’ve had company recreational events where customers were invited our behaviour in front of the customer was much different than it would be if just us.

As the hickup occured I was rezzing a Critter Dance ball loaded with five dances. Where it rezzed is still a mystery. Seeing as this is the 4th on to disappear, I am not happy. Buying the dances over and over again has gotten very old. I also have lost couples dance balls and a Sensual Purple Ribbon Dance Machine.
Certainly wish there was someway to get things back from grid crashes and hickups.

I’m having a problem with my inventory items disappearing. My land is group-owned, and when I try to drag something from my inventory to the ground I get an error that :
Can’t move object to (some numbers) in region Huk because the parcel does not allow objects to enter from other parcels.
??? This is also happening to a groupmate. Even worse, after it happens, the item we were trying to drop completely disappears from our inventory.
I also tried just dropping some simple prims I had in my inventory. I got the same message, then got notification the object was returned to me from an adjacent parcel… even though I’m no where near that area, and dropped it my home.

I was having problems all day. But am about to try again, I am glad there was some sort of issue and I was not going nuts. I spent about 5000L last night on new hair and shoes and clothes, but could not find most of them. Then when I would try to get dressed or put on things, I would either go invisible or I would not be able to go past a point. I would try to log back on and it would have me falling and never able to get back to a point, or I would just be stuck somewhere. I am hoping this time I can get back on and flash my fancy self with my new clothes

Ravanne - After reading your post I have realised this. The Grid Monkeys are a tool for communicating between LL and the residents. They are support people. They have probably been given this specific ‘label’ for want of a better expression to make the residents feel easier with them and open the communication channels.
I would not think for one second that the managers / directors etc would have a corporate meeting and refer to anoher employee as a Grid Monkey. yes I understand your point but there are two sides to this coin. The Grid Monkies are a tool for LL to communicate on a better level than they have before.
I do understand your point, and all I ask is that you try and understand my point, but at the end of the day (and I may be wrong) neither of us know the inner workings of LL enough to make presumptions. If you still don’t agree then we will just have to agree to diasgree.

I’ve been having escalating problems through the week, which I blamed on my cruddy connection (as in, connecting from Australia). I generally have to wait upwards of half an hour (!) for everyone in my vicinity to rez, and almost as long for any complicated landscape to come through. To be honest, before the last upgrade, it was good. My animations worked (they don’t now), my items could be dropped and used (if I try to Sit on anything, including the free go-kart, I go ’somewhere else’ and can only come back by accessing my Appearance). I could access my worn items straight away (these days, they take ages to become accessible) and my wings rezzed just as soon as I put them on. I didn’t even have to consult my Appearance.
In fact, my Appearance is pretty damn important to me, as it also gets me out of the other major hair-pulling-out bug that I keep encountering - sometimes, as a result of crossing a boundary line (but not necessarily because of that) I get stuck in the movement I was doing; I keep flying, walking, whatever, ignoring terrain and buildings. Straight ahead until I get logged out. Whee. I’ve found that accessing Appearance will usually drop me back into useable mode. (And the time when I rezzed to find that my head was on backward - serious! - Appearance got me out of that too.)
Can we rollback to the last fix? Everything actually worked better then.

To those of you who have lost stuff:
I sell doors and windows. In the last several weeks, quite a few of my sales were not delivered, or the item got lost in inventory, or it disappeared when rezzed, or ut rezzed but was broken. If a customer contacted me to report one of these happenings, I sent a replacement, free, no questions asked. (In the case of undelivered items, sometimes I asked the customer to log out, clear cache and log back in, and this occasionally cured the problem).
I think most merchants will replace lost items if you ask them politely in a timely manner. Keep in mind it’s not their fault the servers are borked. Sales records are kept on the Linden servers for 30 days, so if you act within 30 days of purchase, that fact that you bought the item can be proven.
If a merchant refuses, take your custom elsewhere.

wow where to post? I don’t know if it is being glossed over or if it has been addressed, but there is a serious issue with animations now, texture loading, money objects, and lost IM’s - if dual poseballs no longer work it is going to drive a lot of us dance/intimate paired animation fans away from sl. Anyone else seen this problem? You would think more people would be complaining about it but sorting through the blog for questions/comments is futile lol
Any word from anyone or know where I can find notes on these issues and if they are being resolved?

Snaptick - I too myself have had problems with dual pose balls tonight, either myself or my partner not adopting the correct pose or position. I have fould a relog corretcs the problem, but can occur again on the next pose.
Now you have seen the same as me I will report it as a bug.

It’s not just dual pose balls, it’s affecting single pose animations and animation overrides intermittently depending on system load etc…

I can log in just fine and my inventory seems complete, but I can’t TP anywhere. I could when I logged in about half an hour ago. Now, on my (what feels like) 100th try, I cannot TP to any of my randomly chosen landmarks. Also, I can’t be teleported by anyone, or use teleports in searches or profiles. I get the “Could not teleport. You are not allowed into the destination.” type message.
It would be nice to know when all these problems are gonna end. Have you bought a new server hamster yet? How about a few database hamsters? Maybe some coder hamsters too, while you’re at it.

I have been trying to get online again after crashing inlife for about 3/4 of an hour.
Each time i get the message me acount will not be ready for about 5 mins….after those five minutes, five are added up again….and again…and again…

I’m finding out I can’t teleport outside of the sim I’m in…and it’s not allowing me to tp into anywhere else saying I’m denied access. I just tried tp’ing to other sims in my list…and same response ‘Could not teleport. You are not allowed into that destination.’ I can’t even fly out of the sim I’m in..help!

Please lindens when are you going to take SL back into beta and refund us the money for a broken service.
For the last 6+ months SL has been degrading as the population increases.
Im not angry im sad
No onther game or service in the world would still be charging us for this.
Unlike some I own an island and its not so easy for me to go to a free account till this is all fixed IF its all fixed too much money invested in the island.
I come on SL for my friends only now, I can’t use the items i’ve bought, I can’t play SL its become too buggy, too laggy.
I know your trying, but even though you won’t admit it the problems are quite simple the solutions even simpler
Dbase load
Restrict all non paying accounts, not permanently just keep the numbers in world below 10k and prioritise those of us who pay per month for log in, I know you say the free accounts don’t affect things but that is simply a lie
pay accounts = money going directly to lindens for bandwidth, for asset server usage.
free accounts = no money directly to lindens (yes there is the tiny fee on transactions etc)
SL is not as scalable as you would like and while you keep finding work around after work around for its growth your introducing bug after bug.
Restrict free accounts inventory, atm free accounts can have the same amount of items in inventory, textures etc as a payed account, please bring in a limit, i know free account holders with 20k items and your telling me that isn’t an asset server drain ?
Im not against free accounts im against pay accounts paying for there bandwidth and there resource usage.
as the numbers creep up and i know a large huge percentage are free accounts sl has gotten worse
I love this place but its nolonger a game to me its just a place i hope to log in and chat to my friends and loves.
I won’t list all of the problems even when current issues are fixed. you already know them.

For a long time after the update, I’m getting more lag. I fly a bit and it keeps on flying for 3 sims and then come back to normal. And my attachments all go to my private area. Two shoes up my rear. I have to relog in or detach and reattach them. I hope the update will fix these problems too and I hate the permission problem with groups too.

I am having the only partial loading of inventory problem too. It started when the “grid hiccup” started and has continued ever since. I cannot get to stuff that I need and there is stuff I bought this morning that I am not sure that I have. Live help keeps telling me clear my cache and try again. The last thing they told me is that I need a new graphics card. This seems fishy to me. First of all, what do graphics have to do with my inventory. My inventory isn’t graphics. Second of all, how did my graphics card being out of date just happen to magically coincide with that “grid hiccup”. I will need my full inventory tomorrow. Can someone please help me?

I understand that you all are aware of the search bugs. But calling it a “minor bug” is a little unfair. For people who are comducting their in world business solely off of their private sim, it is crippling. Now the only way for people to find them is through previous knowledge, following a profile, or random map clicking. All of which are unreliable at best.
I understand ya’ll are working on it, and while I’m extremely unhappy about the bug, I’m not chastising on that point right now. Just pointing out that minimizing what is a major problem for some people is only going to further aggravate your customers. An ounce of understanding here would go much farther.

I’ve been starting to think that some of the inventory problems are due to moving things around in the directory structure.
Certainly had at least one occasion where everything I “took” then moved into a different directory disappeared, and stuff I took and didn’t move was there when I next logged in. Also had a case where what I think happened was that moving a script resulted in an old version re-appearing (but maybe that was finger trouble).

Well, grid stability is *the* critical issue that must be addressed - with 17,000+ concurrent users last night (GMT), the largest number I’ve ever seen, and all kinds of weird things happening inworld (as encapsulated in earlier posts) as a direct and indirect result of the load - things *have* to improve to make the user experience that much more enjoyable.
…and when Santa Linden delivers a new update on Wednesday - there will be lots more very disappointed boys and girls here if it breaks more of our toys over the holiday season, and grinds inworld businesses to a halt

To those of you who have disappearing inventory - don’t hold your breath. I’ve had items that have disappeared from my inventory - been gone for nearly a month now, still not back, and all I did was take them from my land into my inventory. When I logged back in - poof. My partner is having similar problems, - been over a week now - and everytime we ask in Live Help - all we get is… “see the blog posts” other users have offered tips, but alas to no avail. Have even done bug reports and still - no response. This is so frustrating, that we’re spending less and less time in SL - i’m questioning if it’s even worth paying the tier fees and user fees - for a platform that doesn’t perform the way it’s supposed to. If the allowance of free accounts to get the number of members up was a move to attract big business to SL, well guys, you should have factored in the subsequent problems.

I’ve been trying to logon for two days now,this is getting very old.I thought at 1st it was the site but after going to the website and viewing online friends I know its not effecting everybody.I emailed and got automated message,needless to say i’m not real happy.

I logged in to discover that my builds in Europa were now half-embedded in the terrain. Permission on the terrain was also set to “anyone can edit”, which I know wasn’t set previously. I’d very much like the terrain in my parcels in Europa to be reverted to what they were earlier in the week, since I can’t get at prims that are currently underground…

Hm, items that disappear on rez fail, invisable avitars with the “clothing downloading” note, apparent loss of all L’s, broken TP’s… scripts vaping etc…. and the new “invisable sim water” bug were all exactly what I and my friends were experiencing right after the latest major …. “upgrade.” Any chance something… I dunno, reset it all somehow to like when the grid restarted after that last big patch?

the Friends list has not been working properly along with IM.
A friend of mine had been showing offline in my Friends list for most of the week, but online in search. I tried IMing her but without any luck. I presumed she had just got me turned off on her list for some reason.
However, I bumped into her last night, and she hadn’t received any of my IMs and I was showing up as offline in her Friends list as well. I removed her from my friends list and re-added her. I could then see her as Online, but she still couldn’t see me as online (and before anyone queries it, yes I do have it set so she can see me!).
Both log on this morning and I think we can now both see each other…. how long it will work for I dont’ know!! There are a number of friends who I haven’t seen online for a few days, and I’m know wondering if this is due to this bug and IMs not necessarily getting through.

Either you crash, experience impossible lag, find yourself suspended in a netherworld having to log off and back on again to get to somewhere recognizable as land, teleports sometimes work, more often not, found myself riding in the ether on a vehicle I could not see with a man wearing the high heels and the name of a woman I had seen in another place an hour before. I spent hours invisible except for my hair while building an item that should only have taken a few minutes all the while freezing and having to log off/on. Finally gave up and tried to hold a simple conversation with one person in one place but after several crashes gave up. I’m not even going to go into inventory problems since it’s been mentioned in an prior post. This is more than a hiccup and it doesn’t seem to be resolving itself since these particular oddities have been happening since Dec. 8th.

Its not resolved yet. As of yesterday afternoon and still today I cannot teleport anywhere. I’m stuck where I am. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. Just thought I would let you know.

I’m seeing double. When I search for something, I see two of every entry that matches the search. I just now bought three things…only I have two of each of them, and my balance was debited for two of each of them.
At first when I IM-ed New Citizens Group to see whether anyone else had seen this, two of everything I typed showed up. I signed off and back on, and now I can’t IM anybody.
Help?

On trying to login the following message appears:

Its been like this for the past hour for me.

Please GET that TELEPORT system functioning ! Its frustrating when you want to go somewhere and the message is “We cannot do it . bla bla bla.” Half the time you are stuck on one place because the teleports won’t work , Its frustrating.

Seeing really slow inventory operation, and teleport to locations I’ve searched for isn’t working (it says I’m not allowed to teleport there nine times out of ten… if I keep trying and wait 10-15 minutes, I did get _one_ teleport to work.) I then started having movement problems: forward walking and fwd flying didn’t work at all, thought I could turn right and left in place. If I really work at moving forward, It’ll finally start moving me in slo-mo, and then it keeps moving me in that direction long after I let up on the key - long after, this isn’t just key-repeat, as I’ll walk into the ground, etc. then snap back to 10m prior position. (sigh).
Then a teleport to a location card failed completely - things just went black for a while, and I was returned to my prior location after a minute or so. Without movement working, I logged off.
I logged on this morning again and still having similar problems.

Go to search and then places and type in anything in the search and it just brings up the info of the place I am at and nothing else. lol TP fails to most places off mainland. Still laggy and slow loading. Chat takes to long to see after hitting enter.
Stayed out of SL for a couple weels while they work on things. Guess a couple more weeks is in order. Oh well.

I’ve spent all day long trying to work on my new islands. When I click on anything it freezes me up and I have to relog, then I get a message saying my account will not be ready for log in for yet another 5-7 minutes!! PLEASE……can you get this issue fixed??? I’ve uninstalled SL and reinstalled it several times and that allows me to have an addition 10 minutes before I freeze up again!!
So frustrating!!!

Was in the process of making some hair , 2 prims virtually on top of each other i get the link failed message pieces to far apart, and everything else that i had linked are now unlinked tried clearing cache and reloggin a few times, still the same , links unlinked and 2 prims that will not link , filed bug report talked to live help if you can call it that as they were no help , this is gettin so frustrating, bug reports and issues reported same day of last upgrade have gone untouched and not acknowledged but any how here is a new issue can i expect a fix on this or is it just gonna go untouched as well , now i cant build AT ALL this really sucks

I’ve been having problems with estate to estate teleports for the past couple of days, they only seem to work by going via the mainland. I’ve also had trouble with even walking between two neighboring areas at times.

I purchased 2 items and elements from both sets simply vanished. I thought it was the items that were at fault and contacted the creators to inform. I never realised that this could have been caused by the grid. What happens if they do not reappear?

I am in Australia so I am pretty lucky most of the time considering though still have drama during my time zone however being I nightowl and a severe insomniac, I am often here during high load when America wakes up, I feel so sorry for you guys because it is really getting rediculous. I gave up a few moment ago after waiting almost 20 minutes standing like a dork waiting for one box of mine to load its contents. I had to make sure I had a copy of this item becuase during another time last month I lost my entire collection of textures that I had spent at least 2000 Lindens uploding during my time here. Yes I reported it and no I got no reply from the Lindens though I did report it at least twice. So again I have to load these textures luckily I had most of my objects made by then.
Upsetting yes and also I see each day as I do have several business’ here I only work here I dont work in the real world so this is my living. (I have an illness that makes working in the real world differcult for me.)
Now that the membership is so close to 2 million members. I will still have to pay my tier though the servers are still the main problem as far as I can see. I get to waste at least 3 hours per day re logging clearing my cashe etc and crashing whilst trying to make my Land a wonderful place to visit. Fortunately I am reasonably patient.
BUT Lindens I know you are trying your best to fix all the bugs but you r going to lose business owners that earn you considerable money if the load issue is not dealty with. I know I have spent over 500 000 lindens here by now not including my tier or the fact that I have paid 1 years membership. I will stay but please do something about this issue. Bugs are a pain but not being able to work being stuck in one spot for 10 minutes at a time unable to walk etc is becoming a serious issue. Fix the LOAD PROBLEMS PLEASE. out of the almost 2 million members its only good when under 10,000 people r on SL. God help SL if everyone decided to sign in. Get 15,000 and dont even bother trying. AS SAID LINDENS are doing their best but there r people above them that should be dealing with the LOAD. Thank you.

Well sadly, its becoming no more interactive than yahoo messenger at this rate (well infact less).
I too invested in an island so its not so easy to pack up and go.
But really - this is disgraceful.
I am now resorting to staying in one prim free corner of the island and using IM.
hell of a price to pay for an IM client that crashes alot.

well, this is a fine pickle of a jar…seems to me that they are saying ” We do not know the cause of this problem and it’s a MAJOR “boo-boo” on our part, but lets tell them we don’t know the cause and hope it fixes itself.”
well, i’ve NEVER met an error in programming that “fixes itself”. All programs have to be debugged to remove an error, otherwise the problem may disappear for awhile, but it will come back. Always, every single time.

Calling it a ‘minor bug’ is from the marketing department. Most Developer blogs (including this one) Must meet Marketing standards. Marketers would rather it say ‘minor bug’ than ‘major error’, no matter the truth. It’s all about marketing.
I work in the game industry, and we once had a memory leak in a project, ( a memory leak is where the game uses more and more memory until it uses all of your memory, instead of only using what it’s supposed to be using.) It got covered up as a ‘minor memory bug’ until the patch was released.
