[UPDATE] Summary of Search functionality restored so far

[Dec. 8 @ 2:58 PM PST] We’re continuing to provide updates, please see Jeska’s post for the most recent news.

[Dec. 6 @ 3:49 PM PST] We’re doing continued testing on Search as we strive to bring it back to full glory. Please note this may result in momentary database-related problems inworld and related weirdness — we’re keeping a very close eye on things if they go awry.

[Dec. 6 @ 10:32 AM PST] Some of you have asked about: (1) being able to search Classifieds fully again, meaning not just the title but the description too; and (2) Classifieds auto-populating and not having to press the “Search” button to show them. We know the current behavior is limited, and “the old way” is more useful. Pending further testing, I’m sorry I don’t have an update on this situation yet. I’ll post when it comes.

Today, we worked on features which were disabled after our database load issues. After doing careful testing, we’ve turned back on:

  • Search > Popular Places
  • Popular Places icons on the World Map
  • Event icons on the World Map

This means the only things left to fix from this batch are:

  • Search > Places
  • Classifieds icons on the World Map

We look forward to bringing them back ASAP for your continued usage — pardon, no ETA yet, but testing and work continues, so count on regular updates from me.
