[UPDATE] Teleport issues investigated

[6:34 PM PST] I made a dedicated teleport workaround post. Thanx Milo and Joe Linden for helping me with this!

[6:05 PM PST] Thanx to the inworld Live Help details we got: it appears this is the same problem reported previously, where certain Estate-to-Estate teleports do not work.

I managed to get to Rapture by first teleporting to Plum on the Mainland, then back into Rapture. See if teleporting first to the Mainland, then back to an Estate (private island) works for you.

[5:55 PM PST] Got a repro trying to TP into Rapture! These reports appear to have something common: a message like:

“Could not teleport. You are not allowed in the destination”

comes up. Milo’s helping me check it out right now. If this happens to you, and you’re sure you’re allowed in an estate (private island) open to the public, please keep trying. I eventually made it in.

[5:44 PM PST] We continue to receive  number of reports of teleports not working. I haven’t personally been able to repro this so far, but we have our eyes on it.

[3:52 PM PST] I’m still here by your side. We’re still getting reports of issues on Live Help inworld, but things are settling down. We’re continuing to monitor — most database-related functionality is working again as expected. I’m going to post some brief points in the sidebar of issues which haven’t been fixed yet.

(Might as well make good use of our Widgets in a time of great importance.)

[2:55 PM PST] Important emphasis: in many cases, when something appears missing, like your L$ or avatar, it’s actually not missing. The database is having problems connecting to retrieve that data, so it just looks like nothing comes up.

[2:53 PM PST] As mentioned earlier today, you may experience problems like: being unable to see your inventory and unable to rez objects, teleporting difficulties, inability to change groups, look up profiles, etc. These symptoms appear related.

Thanks to Chadrick who’s been sending out gridwide announces inworld, but it looks like they’re unreliable and not showing up when you’re not on the Mainland and on an Estate.

[2:43 PM PST] I just had a swift login, but after what happened earlier, we’re not taking chances.

Sorry for the bad news, we’re getting a rash of reports from inworld that the symptoms thought to be resolved earlier are coming back. Live Help is on fire. We’re on it. More as this develops.
